Control panel description for deteriorate is backwards.

The 'slow' setting deteriorates items extremely quickly (0.15 day ticks), and vice versa for the 'fast' setting (3 day ticks).

Discovered this and confirmed in play session that the 0.15 setting is not extra slow it's extra fast.

Technically, the usage was incorrect, but semantically it was correct.

If the number goes down with the amount of the thing, it isn't a frequency (or rate), it's the inverse, "wavelength" or in this case perhaps "interval". Frequency goes up with increased frequency, not down. However, an interval goes down with increased frequency.

There are other inconsistencies, like how starvingdead calls its poll interval a "rate". So it would have to be a comprehensive change across all the tools. I don't think anything in dfhack actually uses frequency or rate correctly because actually calculating from frequency would be an extra step. Everything is based on poll periods (and a lot of the tools aren't that accurate anyway). But changing how the flags work at this point might be more trouble than it's worth.

@KaiStarkk agreed. So 60 miles per hour is faster than 30 miles per hour because 60 is a bigger number than 30. However, in DFHack, 60 is actually slower than 30.

If you look at DFHack/scripts#1592 you can see that even script developers have issues with understanding this.

In terms of operations per second:
Frequency: 50hz < 60hz
Interval: 50s > 60s

Words mean what words mean, and using the wrong word will cause confusion. It's bad enough that bigger doesn't mean faster. It's worse that the word used to describe the number is incorrect.
