Fixes #3939

What changed

  • The Text component's icon was rendered inside DisplayText, which places it between the title (label) and the value. It is now passed to the Label (new optional icon prop on LabelProps) so it renders before the title, matching the behaviour specified in Text Component #2170.
  • DisplayText no longer takes iconUrl/iconAltText (it is only used by TextComponent).

Note on verification

Dependency installation for this repo needs more disk space than was available in my environment, so I could not run the Jest suite locally. The change is small and behavior-preserving apart from the icon position:

  • icon is optional on LabelProps, so no other Label consumer changes behavior.
  • When no title is set the early-return path is unchanged (and the icon was never rendered there before either).
  • The icon keeps the same classes.icon styling and title-based alt text; in vertical direction it now sits above the title, as in the expected screenshot.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Labels can now display an optional icon alongside their text. When shown, the icon is aligned with the label and uses its localized title as alternative text.
    • Labels without an icon continue to display their existing text as before.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Icons no longer appear with text values; they are displayed with the label instead.

The icon was rendered inside DisplayText, between the label (title)
and the value. Render it through the label instead so it appears
before the title, as specified in Altinn#2170.

Explanation

Issue #3939 requires the Text icon to appear before the title instead of before the value in horizontal and vertical layouts. TextComponent now creates the icon and passes it to Label. Label renders the icon with the title content. DisplayText no longer renders the icon. The change also preserves the icon styling and title-based alt text. Issue #3939 has no explicit automated-test requirement. The PR reports that Jest was not run locally.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes stay within issue #3939. They move icon rendering from DisplayText to Label, add the optional LabelProps.icon prop, preserve icon styling, and remove obsolete DisplayText icon inputs. No unrelated production changes are shown.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description clearly explains the change, linked issues, behavior, and test limitation. However, it does not follow the repository template and omits the required verification, accessibility, documentation, Studio support, sprint board, and labels sections.

Resolution

Add the required template sections and complete each applicable checkbox. Include the related issue under “Related Issue(s)”, record manual, automated, and accessibility testing status, and state whether documentation, Studio support, sprint board, and labels require action.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 0.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 1 functions across 3 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Comment thread src/components/label/Label.tsx Outdated
Keep the icon in the same grid item as the title and align them in a
row, so it does not occupy its own row in vertical layouts nor stretch
to the height of a multiline value in horizontal ones.

Adopted in 6dde81b: the icon now renders inside the title's grid item with display: flex; align-items: center (.iconWithTitle in Label.module.css), so it sits beside the title in both directions instead of occupying its own row (vertical) or stretching to the value's height (horizontal). This also matches the expected screenshot in #2170, where the icon is flush with the title.
