Time Changes
VotingPlugin uses Javaβs LocalDateTime with ZoneId.of() to handle time-based features β like daily, weekly, and monthly resets.
You can shift the pluginβs internal time relative to your system clock:
TimeHourOffSet: 0
Examples:
-
TimeHourOffSet: -6β Runs 6 hours behind system time -
TimeHourOffSet: 2β Runs 2 hours ahead of system time
π Weekly Offset (6.19.1+)
You can shift the weekly reset by a number of days using:
TimeWeekOffSet: 0
Examples:
-
TimeWeekOffSet: 1β Moves the weekly reset 1 day later -
TimeWeekOffSet: -2β Moves the weekly reset 2 days earlier
You can define a specific time zone in Config.yml using standard Java zone IDs.
VotingPlugin validates these using ZoneId.of("YourZoneHere").
TimeZone: 'UTC'
This is useful when you want weekly resets to start on a different weekday than the default (Monday). The offset is applied after timezone and hour offset adjustments.
For example, if your serverβs week normally resets Monday at midnight and TimeWeekOffSet: 2, the weekly reset will now occur Wednesday at midnight instead.
| Example | Description |
|---|---|
'UTC' |
Universal Coordinated Time |
'America/Regina' |
Central Canada (no daylight savings) |
'America/New_York' |
Eastern Time (auto daylight savings) |
'America/Los_Angeles' |
Pacific Time |
'Europe/London' |
United Kingdom |
'Australia/Sydney' |
Eastern Australia |
'Asia/Tokyo' |
Japan |
Use one of the above examples or check the IANA timezone list for your region.
If invalid, Java will throw an error when loading.
You can view the time VotingPlugin is currently using:
/av CurrentPluginTime
VotingPlugin 7.1.1 provides two manual commands with different scopes.
On a standalone or backend server, run this command from the server console:
/av ForceTimeChange <DAY|WEEK|MONTH>
This runs the selected time-change handling on that server. It does not replace proxy coordination for a network using GlobalData.
On BungeeCord or Velocity, set GlobalData.Enabled: true in the proxy's bungeeconfig.yml and every participating backend's BungeeSettings.yml, then use the proxy command:
/votingpluginproxy forcetimechange <DAY|WEEK|MONTH>
Run it from the proxy console or as a proxy command sender with votingpluginproxy.admin. The proxy coordinates the selected change with participating backend servers. When GlobalData is disabled, VotingPlugin 7.1.1 logs that the proxy time-change event is ignored and does not instruct a backend to process it.
Use either command only during controlled testing or maintenance, with current backups.
If you need to skip automatic time changes when the server starts,
set this in ServerData.yml:
IgnoreTime: true
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
TimeHourOffSet |
Adjusts time by a set number of hours. |
TimeZone |
Uses a valid Java Zone ID to define your region. |
IgnoreTime |
Skips time-change events on startup. |
/av CurrentPluginTime |
Displays plugin time. |
/av ForceTimeChange <DAY|WEEK|MONTH> |
Forces the selected time change on one standalone or backend server. |
/votingpluginproxy forcetimechange <DAY|WEEK|MONTH> |
Requires GlobalData.Enabled: true in the proxy's bungeeconfig.yml and every participating backend's BungeeSettings.yml; coordinates the change across those backends. |
