The existing-release path force-pushes prerelease before gh release edit. If the edit fails, the step exits without restoring the previous tag. The download URL can then resolve the old asset through the new tag.

## Release package

`npm run pack` builds a runnable tree into `dist/` and archives it as `dist.tar.gz`: a minified client bundle, single-file server + extract scripts (dependencies inlined — no `node_modules`), and the static files Express serves.
