Publishes the MIT operational metadata contract used by the Scaleway CLI and CD work in #2105 and DefangLabs/pulumi-defang#234. CD can publish physical resource identities and endpoints through a versioned
defangDeploymentoutput, and the CLI can discover them without importing provider implementation code or depending on child resource names.Extracts four files unchanged from #2105: the standard-library-only metadata types/state reader and the Scaleway config-name helper, with tests. This lets the updated provider depend on current CLI APIs while the complete Scaleway CLI branch is reviewed separately. No module dependencies change.
Validation:
make lint-fix,make lint(0 issues), and the fullmake testrace/short suite passed with Go 1.26.10. Tests ran with ambient AWS region/workspace settings unset and Linux capabilities dropped so filesystem permission tests exercise ordinary user permissions.Constitution: provider-independent metadata, no credentials in outputs, no resource creation, and no runtime plugin mechanism. Pulumi remains the resource source of truth.
The reader also handles Pulumi’s transient empty version-zero checkpoint during stack creation. The guard accepts only an explicit version zero, a nonempty stack name, and absent snapshot/export fields; malformed and unsupported state remains an error. The literal envelope was reproduced with Pulumi 3.268.0 and has regression coverage. Metadata fields and version 1 are unchanged.
CI at
a841bfeb: Go, Nix, and CodeQL all passed. Paired live validation used CLIa58b5665and provider/CDc5d9985with image digestsha256:6eb5a16e2dbf149816a3e190a97e9e9f40d78ed9148b0002e28fee21c2e36ee1. The latest four shared files are byte-identical between this PR and #2105. Fresh-stack foreground completion, status, startup logs, native probes, and secret checks passed; independent cleanup confirmed zero native resources and a missing state bucket. 0f8c754039335392a1fba088cbfc7d22f481fefcand shared contract095b395689aa39da8ef5184b619fb8065dd9925ftighten expected failures to rejectErrNotFoundfor ambiguous deployments, future metadata versions, and malformed metadata. A malformed-metadata case and a non-string output skip case were added; existing bootstrap cases cover invalid JSON and unsupported state versions.
