  • I verified proper file naming conventions were followed for any new files or renamed files. All non-platform specific files are named after what they export and are not named "index.js". All platform-specific files are named for the platform the code supports as outlined in the README.
  • I verified the JSDocs style guidelines (in STYLE.md) were followed
• If a new code pattern is added I verified it was agreed to be used by multiple Expensify engineers

Found and fixed the branch-specific typecheck regression. Node 26 types child_process.exec output as string | NonSharedBuffer; scripts/utils/Git.ts now narrows the promisified command output to its configured UTF-8 string contract. This removes the four new Git.ts errors from tsconfig.bun.json and tsconfig.node.json; the remaining failures are the same existing app/Jest/server errors present on main.

Updated the Node 26 typing fix to avoid an unsafe cast. scripts/utils/Git.ts now uses a runtime type predicate to verify stdout and stderr are strings before returning them. Typecheck no longer reports Git.ts errors. The local lint wrapper could not run because the installed ESLint/@typescript-eslint packages are incompatible (reading Cjs); CI lint will validate the pushed change.

Fixed and verified locally with the required Node 26.5.0 toolchain. Removed obsolete @types/react-native-web 0.19.2 because react-native-web 0.21.2 ships its own types, and updated the Cloudflare Access test mocks for Node 26 WebCrypto buffer types. Both npm run typecheck and npm run lint-changed pass before this push.
