Sets <Version> in CADability/CADability.csproj to 1.8.0-preview.1. Nothing else changes.

Why a preview

master now has all of #412 (#466, #473, #468, #474, #470, #480, #471, #472 with #503, #500, #479, #484). The preview lets existing customers try the new font service, the image bytes of pictures and the neutral page setup before 1.8.0. NuGet does not offer a prerelease version unless a consumer explicitly asks for prereleases, so anyone who updates normally stays on 1.7.1.

Why 1.8 (minor)

I compared the public API of the 1.7.1 assemblies with master by reflection. Public API was added and nothing was removed:

  • Kernel: FontProvider, FontFace, ManagedFontProvider, PageSetup, Project.DefaultPageSetup, Layout.PageSetup, and the byte[] members of Picture and Icon (ImageData, PixelWidth, PixelHeight, Set(byte[], …), SetImageDataNoUndo).
  • CADability.Forms: GdiFontProvider.
  • Newly obsolete, still working: Picture.Bitmap, Picture.Set(Bitmap, …), Picture.SetBitmapNoUndo, Icon.Set(Bitmap, …) and the field Layout.pageSettings.

Check

dotnet pack -c Release builds CADability.1.8.0-preview.1.nupkg and .snupkg, with ACadSharp embedded as before.

After the merge

As in CLAUDE.md:

  1. Run Publish NuGet Package on master and check the log for Your package was pushed..
  2. Create tag v1.8.0-preview.1.
  3. Create a GitHub release marked pre-release, with the release notes that are prepared separately.

Later, a further PR sets the version to 1.8.0 for the final release.
