  • find_port() fell back to /dev/ttyACM* when the adapter was absent, so it picked another CDC device (observed: a HONGTAI LCD panel on /dev/ttyACM0) and would DTR-reset it and send the 1 Mbaud handshake. The installer's "adapter detected" check reported a false positive this way.
  • Now: prefer /dev/skydimo (udev symlink), then VID/PID 1a86:7523, then /dev/ttyUSB* only.
  • Rule renamed 99-skydimo.rules -> 70-skydimo.rules and gains SYMLINK+="skydimo". TAG+="uaccess" is consumed by 73-seat-late.rules, so a 99- rule never yields a user ACL. Installer removes the old 99- copy.
  • Tests: 3 new TestFindPort cases; full suite 34/34 OK (PYTHONPATH=src python -m unittest discover -s tests); new tests fail against the old device.py.

find_port() fell back to /dev/ttyACM* when the adapter was absent and could pick another CDC device. Prefer /dev/skydimo, then VID/PID 1a86:7523, then /dev/ttyUSB* only. Rename the udev rule 99- -> 70- so TAG+="uaccess" yields a user ACL.
