Redesign interimm.org as the Center's own publication - #56

A header with data-lang-cn / data-lang-en now sends the 中文 / English link to that URL instead of the interimm.org home page, so sub-sites with their own translations keep visitors on the same site. nav.<lang>.json gains a "lang" key per language for this. Also notes caching and asset version stamps in kit/README.md. The site now reads as a public document of the Interplanetary Immigration Center: paper and ink, serif headings, thin rules and one Mars-rust accent, with the existing logo. A live signal line under every header shows the Earth to Mars distance, the one-way signal delay, Isidis time and the sol. The home page draws today's planet positions, activities are dated in Earth days and sols, and a new About the project page explains the real open-source project. The shared kit carries the new look to the other sites. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01EZdfMMy2aM8X4PGqUv2p7N
…ties Each city record now shows a still of its 3D model that opens the city in cities.interimm.org (replacing the Sketchfab embed), and a Facilities list with each plant's status and headline readings from Mars Open Facilities, linking to its dashboard. Facility data is read from the index.json that site publishes, at build time and again in the browser. The city map now uses a plan drawn from the martian-cities STL (scripts/city-plan.js), hosted with the site, in place of the 5 MB SketchUp export from raw.githubusercontent.com. Marker positions are carried over to the new image's coordinates. Before: interimm.org and the sister sites used a dark "space" look with a starfield, an orange planet and bento tiles.
After: every page reads as a public document of the Interplanetary Immigration Center. It uses paper and ink, serif headings, thin rules and one Mars-rust accent, and keeps the existing logo. A live signal line under the header shows the Earth to Mars distance, the one-way signal delay, Isidis time (MTC) and the sol.
The home page draws today's positions of Earth and Mars and when a message sent now reaches Isidis. Activities are dated in both Earth days and sols, and a new About the project page (
/project/,/en/project/) explains the real open-source project. Everywhere else speaks as the Center. All existing content, both languages and all URLs are kept.City pages are now the high-level record. Each shows a still of its 3D model that opens the city in cities.interimm.org (replacing the Sketchfab embed), and a Facilities list with each plant's status and headline readings from Mars Open Facilities, linking to its dashboard. That data is read from the facilities site's published
index.json, at build time and again in the browser. How: the shared kit (
assets/kit/) gets the new tokens and fonts, and the kit script gains the signal line and the planet calculations. Kit class names are unchanged, so interplanetary-logistics and the cities explorer pick up the new look with no changes of their own. The fonts are Source Serif 4, IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono, self-hosted under the OFL. Chinese text uses the system Song and Hei faces, so nothing loads from Google. Sol dates are computed at build time with the Mars24 formula. The branch includes #54 (kit language links).🤖 Generated with Claude Code
