A header marked data-toolkit gets a floating round button that opens a panel with the live signal readings, the light/dark switch, the language links and any links the page supplies with data-toolkit-links. Reading pages can drop the signal strip and keep the information one tap away. Opt-in, so no existing page changes. Before: Reading pages that want a slim header have to choose between the full signal strip (about a fifth of a phone screen) and losing the live readings, the theme switch and the language link.
After: A header marked
data-toolkitgets a small round button at the bottom right. It opens a panel with the live signal readings, the light/dark switch, the language links and any links the page supplies. Nothing changes for pages that don't opt in.How:
initToolkitininterimm.jsbuilds the button and panel, reusing the existing signal ticker and theme switch; styles are added tointerimm.css;kit/README.mddocumentsdata-toolkitanddata-toolkit-links. Previewed locally on the book in light and dark, at phone and desktop width.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
