Setting up the LOD Optimiser Tool
To setup the LOD Optimiser tool, you need to ensure you have Use Static Mesh Min LODPer Quality Levels enabled, like so:
You can also enable the Skeletal Mesh one below if you wish, like so:
NOTE: The tool does not support Cloth Assets at this time.
Next, make sure the models you're going to be using have LODs. You can do this by opening up the model and seeing the Number of LODs on the right under LOD Settings.
Creating LODs - Optional
If you didn't import any LODs with your models, you can make some! They won't be the best looking LODs you've seen, but it works. If you wish to do so, increase the Number of LODs to whatever you desire. Then use the LOD Picker to select the LOD you wish to change and then use the Reduction Settings to change the percentage of triangles your model should have for that LOD.
