The repository entry points inherited another fork’s identity, absolute restart paths, prompt-free claims, and descriptions that blurred source work with upstream distributions. This PR identifies the Jones Systems source fork, preserves provider/fixture safeguards, and routes detailed contributor practice to the existing development and release guides. README distinguishes the merged CAAM snapshot foundation from pending controls, sync, and Netdata work; source onboarding starts with CLI help rather than packaging and launching the app.
Only AGENTS.md, README.md, DEVELOPMENT.md, FORK_QUICK_START.md, and RELEASING.md change. CLAUDE.md remains its tracked AGENTS.md symlink. Makefile/scripts, release destinations, shared/global instructions, and pending feature PRs are unchanged. Existing broad termination and launch effects are disclosed; no runtime adoption or Jones release is claimed.
Validation: documentation-link validator passed (235 local links); root instruction routes/fragments and CLAUDE symlink checked; git diff --check passed. The unchanged site/locale check passed (23 locales, 138 site messages); the README retains its source-backed provider-count alt text required by that contract. The original Keychain safety paragraph is retained verbatim for the existing audit contract; its two unchanged test-source clause checks pass without accessing Keychain. make docs-list completed as discovery, with pre-existing unrelated metadata gaps. Documented commands were checked against source. Swift is unavailable in the authoring environment, so make test, the CLI build/help example, and macOS runtime validation were not run locally. The repository’s root-AGENTS macOS test gate and unconditional Linux matrix remain required through CI. No live provider, Keychain, signing, installation, process termination, or release operation ran.
