An explicit desktop user-data override must select its profile before Electron, Clerk and filesystem initialization. This layer validates absolute POSIX/Windows paths and routes both bootstrap and the shared resolver through the same early override, while preserving normal profile defaults.
Coverage includes invalid/relative paths, Windows and UNC paths, initialization ordering and profile isolation. Local affected tests and native desktop verification are UNRUN; this PR runs hosted CI for qualification and is not merge-ready until exact-head checks and required platform evidence pass. Source hashes match the recovered nine-file checkpoint; qualified staging was merged normally before publication.
Implemented with Codex in T3 Code; coordinator gpt-6.1-sol, builders gpt-6-astra.
