MoonLight now runs on a Teensy 4.1: the full UI over a W5500 Ethernet module, settings kept in flash, and WS2812B LEDs on up to 16 pins through the same Parallel LED driver the ESP32 uses. MoonDeck gains a Teensy tab that installs the SDK, builds, flashes and monitors, and a Repo tab now holds the repository checks. Light domain - GpioDmaPeripheral: a QTimer paces one eDMA channel through the crossbar, writing each slot widened to a 32-bit port word into GPIO1; the next frame encodes while the current one is on the wire; frames past 32767 slots run as a descriptor chain. - The loopback self-test captures edges with the cycle counter and passes bit for bit on the bench; it now refuses a receive pin the platform reserves. - LedPeripheral::busHeapBytes lets each bus report what it holds, so the driver's memory readout includes the wider copy. Scripts/MoonDeck - setup_teensy, build_teensy, flash_teensy and monitor_teensy, with a Teensy tab; the Desktop tab splits into Desktop and Repo, Repo first. - repo-health records the Teensy image against its program flash, adds teensy41 to the scenario matrix, and marks a firmware the release lacked as new. Tests - unit_GpioDmaPeripheral: lane slicing, frame sizing, the single-buffer contract, the memory readout, and the reserved receive pin. - host_bus.h holds the wire, frame-size, setup/release and loopbackTxPin helpers the four parallel-peripheral tests copied. - The live scenarios ran on the Teensy for the first time and record observed[teensy41]: 19 pass, and the 5 failures are on the plan's backlog. Docs/CI - The Teensy 4.1 hardware page with an example breadboard, the GPIO-DMA section in the drivers page, the Teensy section in building.md, the platform index naming the third target and the two shared headers. - The plan records phase 3 as built, what the comparison with another timer-and-DMA driver taught, the memory bound on lane length, the web installer, and the backlog for the next commit; two shipped backlog items are deleted and two new ones (Pi GPIO output, a Service calling other devices' APIs) are added. - Touched files leave the docgen list, except four ESP32 driver files and three peripheral tests holding about 400 older comment-width warnings, a sweep of their own. Reviews - 👾 Descriptor flags leaked between frames of different lengths → done: each descriptor starts from a cleared control register; verified at 512 lights on one lane and across the loopback. - 👾 frameTime showed the loop period → done: counted from the slots; the loopback keeps a measured wall time. - 👾 The Teensy app built with -Wall only → done: -Wall -Wextra -Werror, with the SDK headers as system includes. - 👾 platform_teensy.cpp over 1000 lines → done: the GPIO-DMA code moved to platform_teensy_gpio_dma.cpp. - 👾 __IMXRT1062__ in module_types.cpp → accepted: every peripheral there is gated by its chip's macro, and changing one would make two mechanisms. - 👾 Stale FlexIO comments in the Teensy platform config → done. - 👾 flash_teensy pointed at Input Monitoring → done: it names the cable and the program button. - 👾 Nothing refused the W5500's SPI pins → done, with a unit test that fails without the fix. - 👾 The socket pools were guessed → done: sized from lwIP's control-block counts, and a refused UDP bind is logged. - 👾 Two backlog items this branch completed → done: deleted. - 👾 Transmit ignored the driver's wait budget → done: it takes the budget, and gpioDmaWs2812Wait leaves the platform interface. - 👾 MM_THREAD_LOCAL beside ThreadSlot → accepted: ThreadSlot needs a claim and release a function-local flag lacks, and static is exact on one thread. - 👾 Nits → done, except the intrusive loopback's status on targets without a ride, deferred as a driver change of its own. The Teensy 4.1 keeps its settings again: its filesystem filled up after eight files, and a fresh board's device model could not be applied back. LED output past what memory holds now says how many lights fit, the preview carries three times more over Ethernet, and every PR builds the Teensy firmware, which releases ship as a HEX. Live scenarios now lay their own canvas, so they pass on a bench that runs another effect or grid. KPI: 256lights | Desktop:2220KB | tick:7/8/7/2/9/7/276/7/7/11us(FPS:142857/125000/142857/500000/111111/142857/3623/142857/142857/90909) | src:312(79465) | test:231(52603) | functions-over:330 Commit: src +78/-6 lines | test +315/-270 lines | duplicated lines 3688 -> 3688 (+0) Core - Teensy filesystem: PJRC's LittleFS_Program uses 64 KB blocks on the 4.1, so the 1 MB filesystem held 16 and eight settings files filled it, after which every save failed and retried, erasing with interrupts off about once a second (the LED stutter). A small LittleFS block device uses the chip's 4 KB sectors instead. A board on the old layout is formatted once on its first boot with this build, which resets its settings. - SystemModule accepts an empty deviceModel, the unset model a board starts with, so a state document read from a fresh board applies back. - Teensy: Nagle off on accepted connections, as on the ESP32; after a crash the board waits up to 10 s for a monitor, so the crash report is printed. - QNEthernet: a patch makes TCP_SND_BUF overridable, and the build sets 16 segments with the segment pool and lwIP heap to match. The preview drains one send buffer per 20 ms tick, so at 128x128 it went from 122 to 373 KB/s, mostly stride 2 at about 20 fps. Light domain - GpioDmaPeripheral declares its frame budget, the descriptor chain's slots and the heap for the frame with its port words, so an oversized lane reports the lights that fit (551 on one lane, 474 per lane at 16, beside a 128x128 layer) instead of an init failure blaming the pins. - The shared over-capacity status loses its em-dash. Scripts/MoonDeck - CI: a teensy job in test.yml builds the firmware on every PR and keeps the HEX as an artifact; build-teensy in release.yml burns the version and channel in and ships firmware-teensy41-v<version>.hex. setup_teensy.py gains --no-loader, and build_teensy.py takes --release and --version. - run_live_scenario lays a mutate scenario's fixture as the canvas, each named container replaced, and refuses a container the run does not restore. - monitor_teensy flushes its log after each chunk. Tests - The GPIO-DMA memory budget, an empty deviceModel round-trip, the fixture canvas and its refusal. - Live on the Teensy: the state document now passes, and the effect-swap, modifier and teardown scenarios pass on any bench; Palettes waits for MoonLive. Docs/CI - The Teensy page asks for a level shifter on the data line and gives the LEDs their own supply; building.md names the release HEX; testing.md describes the live canvas. - The plan carries status marks, the measured lane limits, the preview result, and phase 4's first item: OSC receive and feedback and WLED audio-sync receive, verified on the board. - The LED-driver analysis records the Raspberry Pi findings: GPIO libraries too slow for LEDs, HUB75 on a Pi 1 to 4, and PIO on a Pi 5. Backlog: Pi GPIO output and a Service that calls other devices' APIs. Reviews - 🐇 Data at 3.3 V to the first LED → done: a level shifter for an installation, direct wiring as a bench setup. - 🐇 The USB power budget for an 8x8 panel was unsupported → done: the LEDs get their own supply, with the per-LED currents. - 🐇 monitor_teensy should flush its log → done. - 👾 The release HEX carried no version or channel → done: --release and --version through CMake, and a versioned asset name. - 👾 A fixture naming a container outside the snapshot stays changed → done: refused, with a test. - 👾 The Teensy job took the sanitizers' comment → done: moved above it. - 👾 dmaBudgetBytes re-derived slotBytes → done: the driver's own. - 👾 The budget test's count and its leaked heap cap → done: 124 lights, and a scope guard clears the cap. - 👾 building.md did not mention the release HEX → done. - 👾 Nits → done: copy.deepcopy, only the Arm toolchain cached, the CMake comment cut to its reason. Restore the canvas when a reset step fails.
The new fixture patches run before the reset block. If a reset control write raises an exception, the existing reset-failure branch returns before the final snapshot-restore loop. The scenario reports failure but leaves the fixture on the live device. Route that return through cleanup, or apply the fixture and reset steps inside a shared try/finally restore path.

Require a snapshot for every container before applying the fixture.
_snapshot_documents() silently skips a container when its document request fails. If the fixture then replaces that container, the final restore has no document for it. A transient read failure can therefore leave the bench with the fixture’s state. Check that every canvas container has a snapshot before the first PATCH, and fail without changing the device when a required snapshot is missing.

Layers can now multiply, screen, darken, lighten, difference and exclusion onto the layers below, so any effect on a multiply layer masks what is under it. MoonLive scripts can read and adjust a light's color, the Teensy reboots itself after a 12 s hang, and the preview returns the memory a larger layout took. The one scenario tick at 275 us (265 us in the run before) moved between two runs of the same code, host timing noise. Core - MoonLiveScript writes every status, its errors included, through its own buffer, and exposes it as statusText, so an owner can tell the script's message from another's - The MoonLive architecture page records that the script vocabulary follows the compiled modules and never leads them Light domain - BlendMap adds the W3C separable modes (multiply, screen, darken, lighten, difference, exclusion) through one per-channel function each, sharing a dense and a mapped loop with alpha, which keeps its arithmetic; exclusion rounds its product, within one step of the formula for every pair - Layer appends the six modes to blendMode, saved indices unchanged, and maps each to its op through a class-scope table - draw.h is the one home for per-light operations: get, pixel, addPixel, blendPixel and the new scalePixel each by coordinate and by index - MoonLive scripts get getR/getG/getB, mulRGB, addRGB and blendRGB, each a one-line call into draw.h - Drivers clears the palette script's status when the script is cleared or a built-in palette is picked, and only its own, so a relay warning stays - PreviewDriver sizes its buffers to the layout before building the table, so a shrinking layout returns its memory and keeps its index cache filled Platform - Teensy watchdog: WDOG1 counts with a 12 s timeout fed by the loop; its timeout reset does not reach the core on this board (WRSR records it, the core keeps running, bench-measured), so its early-warning interrupt at the highest priority marks SRC_GPR5 and resets in software; the next boot reports WDT. Bench-verified: a stuck loop reset after 12 s - Teensy boot record: failed boots counted in SNVS_LPGPR0, cleared after a minute up Tests - Blend modes against the specification over a grid of values, the mask behavior, partial opacity, the mapped path, the option-to-op table, and exclusion over all 65,536 pairs - draw.h index and coordinate forms reaching the same light, and scale, add and blend in place - The script color calls, an out-of-range index included - Drivers: clearing the palette script leaves no error, and a built-in palette clears the script's status and keeps another's (fails against the old code) - PreviewDriver: a shrinking layout returns its memory, and a shrinking sparse layout keeps its index cache filled (both fail against the old code) Docs/CI - Plans in docs/work/present: layer compositing (blend modes and script color calls done, transitions next, with flash, memory and hot-path costs) and MoonLive Coord3D and RGB types - The channel rule in architecture/moonlight.md and its backlog fix extended to the separable modes, with consoles' HTP/LTP as the model - New reference page for the RP2350, RP2040 and Nordic boards with transparent WebP photos; the Teensy page gets an Audio Shield section with its pin overlaps - Friend repos: the blazoncek/WLED digest, the blank line before every list so the site renders them, and the digest prompt asking for it - The Teensy plan: the shopping list without the Nordic DKs, and the whole-panel flicker recorded as predating this batch - The light backlog: the per-frame scripted modifier as its own item Reviews - 👾 preview frees after the table filled the cache -> done: sizing before the build, with a test that fails against the old order - 👾 small-boards reference page and its link to a plan -> done: the dead link removed; the page stays where the PO asked for it - 👾 palette status flag for a shared status slot -> done: an owner check replaces the flag, with a test - 👾 British spellings in the blazoncek digest -> done - 👾 system.md named in the batch -> accepted: it was in the previous commit, not claimed here - 👾 five modes without a named user -> accepted: approved by the PO; this commit's flash line carries their cost - 👾 exclusion range claim tested on a lattice only -> done: all 65,536 pairs - 👾 publishHeapBytes twice in freePreviewBuffers -> done - 👾 per-byte opacity branch in the blend loop -> accepted: identical to the old alpha loop, an optimization to measure first - 👾 "yet" on the reference pages -> done Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

A Teensy 4.1 now installs from the web installer with no tools, updates over Ethernet from its own Firmware card, and comes back from the program button after anything goes wrong. One firmware serves both the regular 4.1 and the 4.1-NE with a W5500, finding its Ethernet chip at boot, and boards without HTTPS send their MoonCloud reports through the open page. KPI: 256lights | Desktop:2240KB | tick:7/9/7/2/8/7/267/7/7/11us(FPS:142857/111111/142857/500000/125000/142857/3745/142857/142857/90909) | ESP32:2071KB | src:319(80704) | test:233(53089) | functions-over:334 Commit: src +716/-130 lines | test +409/-124 lines | code findings 1606 -> 1613 (blocking call on the render path +1, complex function +3, deeply nested +1, long parameter list +1, module type in the UI +1) | duplicated lines 3687 -> 3687 (+0) Core - APPLY_OP handling is one core function, improvApplyOp, shared by the ESP32's serial listener and the Teensy's; platform::improvPoll drains a listener that has no task of its own. - /api/firmware/url answers 501 on a device without an HTTPS client, so the browser fetches the image instead. - MoonCloud gets a browser relay on a board without HTTPS: a hidden one-slot outbox the open page posts, allocated at construction only on such a board; Stats marks a relayed report once the page delivers it, and says on its card how the board sends. Platform (Teensy) - Network updates: an upload is staged in the free flash above the program, checked (boot header, image vector table, the firmware's own name), and copied over the program at reboot by an ITCM routine with every interrupt source off, in 64 KB blocks, skipping the blocks both images share. - One firmware, teensy41, carrying QNEthernet's on-board PHY driver and its W5500 driver side by side behind QNEthernet's external-driver hook, each compiled with its namespace renamed; the PHY is asked first, then the W5500. - A USB serial listener takes the installer's state documents, so a device model's defaults apply right after an install. UI - The web installer writes a Teensy through PJRC's HalfKay bootloader over WebHID (teensy-writer.js), chosen by the manifest's chip family before anything touches the device; it detects a Teensy by its USB ids, reboots a running board into its bootloader, reaches a board without a running program through a "Teensy not listed?" hint, wipes the settings for Erase chip first, and reads the board's address for the success links. - The Firmware card downloads a release's image from the installer's site and uploads it for a device without TLS, says "Writing to flash" through an upload's pauses, pulses through the reboot, and waits for the device before reloading. - Two Teensy device models, each with the GPIO-DMA LED driver on pin 18. Scripts/MoonDeck - One firmware registry (firmwares.py) with chip families feeds generate_manifest, the release's manifest loop, CI and the installer preview, which now stages Teensy builds; check_devices checks every catalog chip and firmware against it. - The Teensy build carries one firmware; the W5500 checkbox and the MM_ETH_W5500 option are gone. Tests - The writer's HalfKay report layout, skipped blocks, boot report, refused images and settings erase; the shared APPLY_OP handler; the MoonCloud outbox; a relayed Stats report counting only once delivered (shown to fail against marking at hand-off); the Teensy flash map against its three readers; manifests for every platform. - unit_FirmwareImage reads only the ESP32 build directories, since a Teensy build writes a MoonLight.bin too. - Scenario observations from the 4.1-NE move from the teensy41-w5500 key to teensy41. Docs/CI - The Teensy page, building, MoonDeck and the installer architecture describe the one firmware, browser install, network updates and the relay; the plan records phase 6 steps 3 to 5 and 7 with their bench verification, and backlogs TLS, a second Ethernet port for lights, a configurable W5500 chip select and a WiFi coprocessor. - CI uploads and releases the one Teensy image with its manifest. - Ratchets: docgen errors 0 and warnings down 4241 -> 4233, but appendix lines rise by 41 with the design notes of four new files (the update copier, the Teensy serial listener, the dual Ethernet driver, MoonCloud's relay) and member deep dives by 1; code findings rise by 7 as listed above, of which the Teensy's improvProvisioningInit parameters are fixed by the platform contract and buildMoonStatsReport and a USB MIDI block were only moved; prose rises by one Temporal finding outside the added lines. Reviews - 👾 Fixed reload landed on a Teensy still copying → done: the card waits for the device to come back. - 👾 Dead teensy41-w5500 artifact paths in test.yml → done. - 👾 rebootToBootloader skipped 134 baud on an already-open port → done: it closes and reopens. - 👾 Two pages could post one outbox request twice → accepted: rare, documented; a fix needs the server. - 👾 A relayed report was marked at hand-off and lost on a reboot → done, with a test. - 👾 Outbox allocated in setup with a rebuild and a test hook → done: allocated at construction. - 👾 The variant mark's stated reason was stale → done: it names what it guards. - 👾 The flash map had three homes → done: a drift test reads all three. - 👾 Stale docstrings, em-dashes and wrapped comments in touched lines → done; 271 em-dashes in three large files are a sweep of their own. - 👾 mmEthernetIsW5500 declared by hand → done: its own header. MoonLive scripts gain RGB and Coord3D values, conditions joined by &&, || and !, and abs, min, max and clamp; a light's color and a palette color read back as one RGB through getRGB and paletteRGB. Switching a scripted effect between scripts no longer carries the last script's buffers, so a large script compiles on a classic ESP32 after any other, and the script compiler takes less flash than before. Core - MoonLive compiler: RGB and Coord3D as host-registered structs, expanded into scalar IR: members, locals, parameters, returns, field access, whole-struct assignment, the constructor, struct arguments filling builtin positions, struct returns through argument slots and the script-argument block. - Conditions: &&, || and ! as short-circuit jumping code; ! binds as in C, and a comparison after a negated value is refused; a condition operator used as a value gets its own error. - abs, min, max, clamp as common builtins on whole and fixed values; script function parameters 4 -> 8 words; a function named after a builtin is refused. - IR labels 40 -> 96, assembler labels and fixups 96 -> 255, a fixup 4 bytes; the IR array grows when a script outgrows the token estimate; struct types stored as a one-byte index, so the compile stack is unchanged. - MoonLiveCompiler.cpp built with -Os on ESP32: cold code, the emitted script code unchanged. - Xtensa shrImm encodes 16..31 through extui, so a byte local (byte b = x + 1;) compiles on ESP32. - The define hook tells a binding a compile is starting; MoonCloud acknowledges an outbox request by its id. Light domain - getRGB and paletteRGB replace getR/G/B and paletteR/G/B. - MoonLiveEffect frees its trail planes and particle pool before a recompile. - Drivers marks the scripted-palette list scanned inside the scan itself, which made one test depend on the order tests ran. - breathe, chase, ember, glow, pulse, sparkle and spectrum rewritten with the new forms. UI - The MoonCloud relay pauses after a failed acknowledgement; a browser install rewrites only MoonLight's GitHub release URLs to the Pages mirror, and cancel aborts both the download and the upload. - Installer: the Teensy recovery link follows every canceled pick, and after a reboot the installer reads only the installed Teensy, never another granted one. Scripts/MoonDeck - check_devices reports a non-string chip instead of raising. Tests - An IR golden table: every shipped script compiles to the same IR, so only the seven rewritten scripts moved. - Structs, conditions and the builtins run on the host; every device backend compiles them; refusals pinned; hpwit's loop-variable case; a script dense in struct copies; Xtensa extui against the toolchain's bytes; buffer release on a script switch and a failed compile; the MoonCloud id cases; the Teensy port exclusion; the scripts-are-C++ prelude generates the structs and their overloads. - The MoonStats consent test expects the warning on a build without HTTPS, which failed the sanitizer jobs. Docs/CI - The MoonLive language page, MIGRATING (the removed calls and reserved names), the roadmap's shipped items, the plan, building.md's repo links and its stale ships sentence, the Teensy plan's driver line, and the P4 WiFi regression on IDF v6.1 in the backlog. Reviews - 🐇 building.md links resolve from the repo root -> done, all 13 in the file. - 🐇 roadmap builtin limit 64 -> done, it was item 1, now 96. - 🐇 Teensy plan driver selection -> done. - 🐇 check_devices chip type -> done. - 🐇 install.js recovery link guard -> done. - 🐇 teensy-writer port by USB ids only -> done, other boards' ports excluded, with a test. - 🐇 MoonCloud acknowledgement by id -> done, with tests. - 🐇 MoonStats consent test -> done; it was also the sanitizer failure. - 🐇 OTA comment "not yet copied" -> done. - 🐇 relay acknowledgement failure cooldown -> done. - 🐇 release-asset rewrite host check -> done. - 🐇 cancel aborts download and upload -> done. - 👾 lookahead looped forever on a lexer error inside a call -> done, with a test. - 👾 a nested same-type call clobbered the outer argument type -> done, with tests for the value and the refusal. - 👾 ! bound looser than a comparison -> done, C precedence, with a test. - 👾 a struct member writable by index -> done, refused. - 👾 a test title claimed an order it cannot see -> done, retitled. - 👾 nits (spelling, em-dashes on edited lines, a stale test title, the duplicate test fixture, label counts, the docs example's palette index, the plan's Risk wording, an addStruct guard) -> done. - 👾 four identical Fixup tables across the assemblers -> deferred: duplication that predates this change, a shared type in core is its own change. Escape the || in the table cell, or the row breaks.
A GitHub Markdown table splits cells at every |, including a | inside backticks. The `||` in this row therefore adds two extra cells. markdownlint reports this as MD056: "Expected: 3; Actual: 5". In the rendered table, the row loses its where column, and part of the text moves into cells with no header.

abs(INT32_MIN) returns a negative value. Saturate the result.
The function widens to int64_t and computes -v = 2147483648. The cast to uint32_t then gives 0x80000000. The script reads that word as signed, so the value is still INT32_MIN. The widening only moves the overflow from the negation to the narrowing cast.
The same input is reachable for fixed: abs(-32768.0) answers -32768.0. A script that relies on abs(x) >= 0 silently takes the wrong branch. Clamp the magnitude to INT32_MAX, and correct the comment.

The refusal test passes because of a parse error, not a backend refusal.
The generated source has no class wrapper. The parser therefore fails at the first token with "a script is a class". The loops also omit int, which parseFor refuses. With both fixed, 60 nested loops still fail in the front end: localCount + 2 > kMaxLocals stops them at 16, and kIrLabels stops them at 48. As a result, lowerWith never runs, and raising 40 to 60 changes nothing.
The comment says the test checks that the emitters return zero bytes rather than truncated code. That path is not covered. Instead, compile a valid script into a code buffer that is too small. That reaches the assembler's overflow_ path through compileSource.
