SENPIEMAN/README.md

Hi, I'm Simon ๐Ÿ‘‹

AKA Senpie or Pieman

I'm a developer who likes building things, breaking things, and then figuring out why they broke.

My work spans web applications, backend services, APIs, infrastructure, and developer tooling. I enjoy taking an idea from a blank repository through the awkward middle where nothing quite works, to something people can actually use.

๐Ÿ”ง What I'm Working On

Ctrl Alt Doc (CAD)

My main project is Ctrl Alt Doc, a documentation platform I've been building across the full stack.

CAD has grown into much more than the project I originally set out to build. It's become a practical way for me to explore application architecture, TypeScript, Svelte, backend development, APIs, authentication, data storage, deployment, and all the unpleasant edge cases that only appear once software becomes real.

More importantly, it's taught me how the different pieces of a modern application actually fit together.

Alongside CAD, I maintain and experiment with smaller projects covering APIs, automation, infrastructure, bots, and whatever else has caught my attention.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Technologies

Languages Frameworks, Platforms & Tools
TypeScript Svelte
JavaScript Node.js
Python FastAPI
HTML Cloudflare Workers
SCSS / CSS Cloudflare R2
SQL SQLite
Liquid Git & GitHub

I'm less interested in collecting technologies for a list than I am in understanding when and why they're useful.

๐Ÿง  How I Learn

I like understanding why something works, rather than simply copying a solution until the error goes away.

That means a lot of my repositories are both software and a record of the process behind learning how to build it better.

I'll happily use documentation, debugging tools, AI, Stack Overflow, questionable experiments and excessive amounts of logging to get somewhere โ€” but I want to come out the other side understanding more than I did when I started.

๐Ÿ“š Documentation & Open Source

I also write and maintain documentation for Casterlabs, available at docs.casterlabs.co.

I'm always interested in constructive feedback, better approaches, and learning from people who know something I don't.

If you find something I've built useful, broken, interesting, or completely baffling, feel free to open an issue or start a discussion.
