Alex Bogle

IoT & AI Technician at IREE Solar, Jamaica.

I build and run AI and automation tools for a solar and battery installer. That includes a staff assistant that answers from product documents, a website chat that only cites approved facts, and performance reports built from monitoring data.

What I'm working on

  • Staff assistant and website chat: answers product questions from manufacturer documents, with sign-in, rate limits, prompt-injection guards and a test set I rerun after every change. Staff pilot running.
  • Company website redesign: a full Squarespace rebuild from version-controlled source. Launch pending.
  • Solar and battery performance reports: plain-language customer and internal reports built from system monitoring data. Professional work.
  • AI-assisted engineering workstation: local memory, a task API, nightly upkeep and guard rails on risky commands. Personal tooling.

Public labs

Stack

  • Daily: Linux, Bash, Docker, Git and GitHub Actions, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, n8n, document retrieval, AI coding agents.
  • Energy systems: Tesla Powerhub and Powerwall, ServiceM8, solar and battery monitoring, outage and reserve analysis.
  • Foundation: device and firmware troubleshooting, networking diagnostics, Google Workspace, AWS fundamentals.

How I work

  • Read before changing. Find out what the system does now and what must still work afterward.
  • Collect evidence: logs, data and the actual error. A reporting gap isn't an equipment fault.
  • Make small changes I can undo, with a restore point first. Keep secrets and customer data out of code and notes.
  • I use AI coding agents for much of my implementation work. I set the scope, review the output and check the result myself before it ships.
