Clean up av-component

Summary

During reintegration of AV Component excess and unnecessary code was discovered. This ticket is to remove the unnecessary code from the AV Component of UV, at least but not limited to examples pointed out in this PR review.

Acceptance Criteria

• code deemed not essential is removed
