Summary

Adds the repo automation from ffxiv-raid-planner, adapted for a Vim plugin.

Based on #2, which is merged into this branch because the PR template refers to its tests/run.sh and CI. Merge #2 first, and this PR's diff shrinks to just the automation.

Changes

  • pr-automation.yml: assigns the PR to its author and adds labels based on:

    • the conventional-commit title prefix (fix: → bug, feat: → enhancement, docs:, ci:, …). Unlike the original's startsWith('feat:'), it also matches scoped and breaking titles like feat(syntax)!:.
    • changed paths: syntax/ → syntax, plugin//ftplugin/ → plugin, tests/ → testing, .github/ → ci/cd, doc/ or *.md → documentation.

Labels that don't exist yet are created. It re-runs on synchronize/reopened/edited and reconciles the labels it manages: a label from an earlier push or title is removed, and other labels (wontfix, good first issue, …) are left alone. Existing assignees are also left alone. Fork and Dependabot PRs are skipped, since they only get a read-only token.

  • Issue templates: a bug report asking for a code snippet, the syntax group under the cursor, :PythonSyntaxInfo and the editor version, plus a feature request. config.yml links to private security reporting, which is now enabled for this repo.

  • PR template: checks for tests (tests/run.sh), docs and changelog, and the workflow fork guard.

  • Dependabot: monthly updates for GitHub Actions only.

Not ported: the release-notes gate, Discord changelog, Claude review and author backfill. They depend on ffxiv's app files and secrets.

Testing

  • Validated the YAML, and tested the title regex against fix:, Feat(syntax):, refactor!:, docs(readme)!:, and non-matching titles.
  • This PR is the live test: it was assigned to its author and labeled ci/cd and documentation.
  • Label reconciliation checked against a mocked API: a stale syntax label was removed, wontfix kept, bug added, and a second run made no changes.

Ported from ffxiv-raid-planner and adapted to this repo:
- pr-automation.yml: assign the PR author; label from the conventional
commit prefix (now also matching scoped/breaking titles like
"feat(syntax)!:") and from changed paths (syntax, plugin, testing,
ci/cd, documentation). Fork-guarded, re-runs on new commits, and
  leaves existing assignees alone
- Bug report / feature request templates asking for a code snippet,
the syntax group under the cursor and :PythonSyntaxInfo
- PR template with test, docs/changelog and fork-guard checks
- Dependabot for GitHub Actions (monthly)

Addresses review feedback on #3:
- Labels the workflow manages are now reconciled to the current title
and changed paths, so a label from an earlier push or title (e.g.
"testing" after tests/ changes are dropped) is removed. Labels outside
the managed set are never touched.
- Skip Dependabot PRs: they run with a read-only token, so addLabels
would fail the job (Dependabot labels its own PRs).

The PR template references tests/run.sh and the CI workflow from #2.
