Description

A stream route that sets both sni and snis is rejected by the gateway and the API7 control plane, but ADC currently passes it through to the backend. This adds validation so the configuration fails before any backend conversion or write.

  • TypeScript: a refine on streamRouteSchema reports Stream route must not specify both sni and snis.
  • Rust: a semantic rule in lint.rs (next to the existing nodes/discovery rule) reports the same error at services[i].stream_routes[j].

As with the other semantic rules on both sides, --no-lint skips this check. A route with only sni or only snis remains valid. schema.json is unchanged.

Fixes #619

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Stream routes that specify both sni and snis are now rejected, with an issue reported at the route.
    • Routes specifying only sni, only snis, or neither continue to pass this validation in the SDK and CLI linters.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The TypeScript stream-route schema and Rust linter now reject routes that specify both sni and snis. Tests cover rejection when both fields are set and acceptance when either field is set alone.

Changes

Stream route validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
TypeScript schema validation and tests
libs/sdk/src/core/schema.ts, apps/cli/src/linter/specs/route.spec.ts
The schema rejects stream routes that specify both sni and snis. CLI tests cover that error and confirm that either field alone passes.
Rust lint validation and tests
rust/crates/adc-sdk/src/lint.rs
The linter adds an issue at the route path when both fields are set. Tests cover rejection when both fields are set and acceptance when either field is set alone.

Rust sync with --no-lint can send an invalid stream route to the backend rather than reject it locally. Make the check mandatory and align the diagnostic before merging.

Full details: E2e Test Quality Review

Explanation

Blocking: the PR adds only unit-level validation tests. apps/cli/src/linter/specs/route.spec.ts calls check()/ConfigurationSchema.safeParse() directly, and the Rust tests call lint(&config) directly. No changed test drives configuration input through the CLI/API flow into backend conversion or a real backend write. The tests therefore do not prove the required end-to-end behavior: rejection before conversion/write and continued handling of routes with only sni or only snis.

Resolution

Add an E2E test through the public configuration/CLI or API entry point. Use a real backend service where practical. Submit a stream route containing both fields and assert the exact validation error, the route path, and that no conversion or backend write occurs. Also cover routes with only sni and only snis and assert that both complete the normal backend flow. Keep the current unit tests as focused rule tests.

names. In stream_route_with_both_sni_and_snis_is_rejected, assert the diagnostic
text as well as the existing issue count and path.
- Around line 164-187: Move the mutual-exclusion validation in
check_stream_route_sni into the mandatory configuration-validation path so it
runs even when sync uses --no-lint; keep unrelated semantic lint checks behind
the optional lint gate.
