Configure and pass the cookie file config/config.go, config/netease_test.go, external/netease/provider.go, providers.go, config.toml.example, config/config_golden_test.go, docs/configuration.md, docs/netease.md |
The NetEase configuration parses and trims cookies_file, then passes it into provider construction. Tests check the parsed value. The example and documentation describe the option and its precedence over cookies_from. |
Select and pass cookie arguments internal/ytdlcookies/*, resolve/resolve.go, player/ytdl.go, player/ytdl_cookies_test.go, external/netease/provider.go, site/index.html |
Host-specific cookie arguments prefer a configured file over a browser source. Resolution and player paths use those arguments and clean up temporary file copies. The source description lists a cookies file as an authentication option. Tests cover file selection, temporary-copy cleanup, and player argument handling. |
Read cookies for NetEase account requests external/netease/provider.go, external/netease/provider_test.go |
The provider reads NetEase cookies from the configured file for account requests. Without a user ID, playlist loading attempts account lookup when either a browser source or cookie file is configured. The parser skips expired cookies. Tests cover expiry handling and file-based account requests without yt-dlp. |

This adds a cookies_file option for NetEase that is used for account lookup, playback, batch resolution and downloads. The earlier review concerns about stale or expired cookies and about yt-dlp overwriting the user's file are addressed in the current code. No concrete merge-blocking risk remains.

Explanation
The title clearly identifies the main change: adding a
cookies_fileoption for the NetEase provider. The workaround context is relevant, although the truncated text and issue reference add minor noise.

Explanation
Issue [
#263] requires a NetEasecookies_filealternative tocookies_from. The configuration parses and documentscookies_file, and application wiring passes it to the provider. The provider reads Netscape cookies without yt-dlp and skips expired entries.SetYTDLCookiesFileForHostandytdlcookies.Argsgive the file precedence over browser cookies. The yt-dlp paths use--cookieswith a private temporary copy, including playback, batch resolution, and downloads. The added tests cover configuration parsing, provider loading without yt-dlp, source precedence, and temporary-file cleanup.

Explanation
The changed configuration examples, documentation, provider code, cookie-source helper, resolver, player, application wiring, and tests directly support or document issue [
#263]. The private cookie copy and expired-cookie handling support safe operation of the requested feature. No unrelated change is demonstrated by the reviewed evidence.

Select cookies that apply to the account request.
If a cookies file contains two MUSIC_U entries with different paths or domains, cookieHeaderFromNetscapeFile keeps the first name and discards the second. It also ignores expiry. An earlier stale entry can therefore replace the valid account cookie, and Account can report an unsigned-in session. Filter entries for the account URL and expiry before choosing a cookie with a duplicate name. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Thanks for this workaround for #263. We need these changes before we merge:
|
yt-dlp writes its cookie jar back to the --cookies path, so passing cookies_file directly let it overwrite the user's file. ytdlcookies.Args now hands each yt-dlp run a private 0600 temp copy and returns a cleanup func; every caller removes the copy after yt-dlp exits. cookieHeaderFromNetscapeFile now skips expired entries before it keeps the first cookie of each name, so a stale duplicate no longer hides a valid one. Session cookies (expiry 0) are kept. config.toml.example documents cookies_file, the golden config test sets and expects it, and docs/netease.md has the user_id paragraph back above the Cookies File heading. Verified: go test ./... and go vet ./... pass. Generated with Claude Code by the token-tithe engine.

Added a [netease] cookies_file option. When it is set, the provider reads the account cookies straight from the Netscape-format file instead of running yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser, and yt-dlp playback, batch resolve and download for music.163.com get --cookies . A new per-host cookie-file source in internal/ytdlcookies, with an Args helper, takes precedence over the browser source.
Fixes #263 (#263)
What changed
Added a [netease] cookies_file option. When it is set, the provider reads the account cookies straight from the Netscape-format file instead of running yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser, and yt-dlp playback, batch resolve and download for music.163.com get --cookies . A new per-host cookie-file source in internal/ytdlcookies, with an Args helper, takes precedence over the browser source.
Root cause: The NetEase provider and the yt-dlp cookie plumbing only accepted a browser name, so every cookie read went through yt-dlp --cookies-from-browser. That fails on Windows with the DPAPI decryption error (yt-dlp#10927), and there was no way to supply an exported cookies file.
How it was verified

A previous attempt at this (#485, closed by its author) noted that yt-dlp rewrites its
--cookiesjar on exit, so withcookies_fileset yt-dlp may update the user's file. This PR does not copy the file first; happy to add that if you prefer. The full test suite and vet pass. The new tests prove three things: the provider reads cookies from the file with yt-dlp absent from PATH, the file wins over the browser source in the yt-dlp args, and the config parses the key. Not verified on Windows with a real NetEase account. The setup wizard does not offer cookies_file; the user sets it by hand. The path does not expand ~. A maintainer may want either of these, or a different API shape for the cookie source.
