This code of conduct governs every Brainquiver repository on GitHub, with its issues, pull requests, reviews and discussions. It also covers a participant who speaks for the project elsewhere, as in a post or an email from a project account. The code is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, which GitHub offers as a template.
Participants treat each other with respect. That respect holds whatever a person's age, body, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity, experience, education, nationality, appearance, race, religion or sexual orientation. Feedback is about the work, and it is given with care. A participant who makes a mistake admits it and apologizes to the people that it affected.
Harassment is unacceptable, in public or in private. So are insults, threats, personal attacks, and unwelcome sexual language or imagery. A participant must not publish another person's private information, such as an address or a phone number, without that person's permission. Conduct that a reasonable person would find inappropriate in a professional context is a breach as well.
A report goes by email to conduct@brainquiver.ai, which only the maintainer reads. A report names the place, the date and the people involved, with a link where one exists. The maintainer answers each report, keeps the reporter's name private, and bases the decision on the facts. A report about the maintainer goes to GitHub, through the Report content option on a comment or the Report abuse option on an account.
The maintainer can edit, hide or remove a comment, an issue or a pull request that breaches this code. A first breach leads to a private warning, with the reason. A repeated or serious breach leads to a temporary ban from the project's spaces, and a sustained pattern of harm leads to a permanent ban. Each decision applies the same way to every participant.
