Current version: 1.1.2
Media Categories is a WordPress plugin that adds a hierarchical category taxonomy to attachments. Media items can belong to multiple categories, and parent categories can be used like virtual folders that include descendant items.
This plugin is currently owner-maintained by Eric Satzman. Pull requests are welcome, but releases and review cycles may be infrequent.
Updates use GitHub-hosted metadata
and versioned GitHub Release ZIPs.
Existing 1.1.1 installations can update through the one-time CDLIB bridge
for version 1.1.2. After installing 1.1.2, subsequent updates use GitHub.
Release packaging and publishing tools are kept in a separate private
configuration repository.
