Concepts: X3DH and Double Ratchet implementation notes #625
Branch: Open your PR against dev. PRs targeting main are closed automatically.
Description:
Write apps/web/docs/concepts-x3dh-double-ratchet.md: implementation-level notes on lib/x3dh.ts and lib/crypto/doubleRatchet.ts, written for a reviewer checking them against the Signal specifications.
Acceptance criteria:
Documents the Ed25519 → X25519 identity-key conversion (the Edwards–Montgomery map) and why identity keys are Ed25519 in the first place
Documents the X3DH DH inputs, the KDF construction and info strings, and the behaviour when the bundle has no one-time prekey
Documents the ratchet KDFs (kdfRk, kdfCk), the skipped-key limits (MAX_SKIP 100 per chain, MAX_SKIPPED_KEYS 1000 overall) and what happens when either is exceeded
Lists every deviation from the Signal specs, with the reason, and links to the test vectors in x3dh.vectors.test.ts
