Provide reusable image construction APIs so filesystem changes can be stored as child OCI images without a merged overlay mount or a tar file. Normalize the selected overlay xattr namespace against a resolved parent tree, preserving inherited object references and hardlinks. Serialize the canonical tar draft directly into splitstream instructions, hash the logical tar bytes, and publish the destination ref after storing the layer, image configuration, manifest and EROFS image.
