feat(WordRAM): certify Sum-dispatched framed products (C6 milestone) #2261

Open

Description

@SamuelSchlesinger

C6 follow-up to #2205, explicitly assigned to Codex in the gate assessment. Existing component Realizes certificates need a charged Sum dispatcher that can be consumed with the existing shared-memory product and allocator contracts. Worker codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102 (roadmap_crypto), branch work/c6-products-crypto-20261102; assignment: SamuelSchlesinger.

The first bounded milestone is a new Realization/Product.lean leaf and distinct tests. It will combine two uniform component certificates with a faithful common result encoding and an explicitly checked input/tag layout, preserve the literal whole memory and frontier, and charge dispatch and any allocation/glue. It will reuse Memory.Framed.prod and Memory.Allocator.prod at #2239 73ca9900d93fd98fa502c0075bdc0543fa7479fc, including state-dependent footprints, owned resident cells and shared room. Those files remain owned by worker-claude-015dlg8k-products3; this task does not replace or edit their contracts.

Acceptance criteria:

  • One emitter and its exchange constant precede runtime inputs, widths and layouts; no uncharged argument installation, prepare operation or memory clearing.
  • A genuine two-component consumer exercises the product frames and changing footprint/room with charged native setup, plus nonzero and zero-cost cases. Overlap and insufficient-room cases are rejected using the existing preconditions.
  • Native framing uses an explicitly proved reserved-region containment obligation where the current SubroutineBase has one static owned block; semantic frame composition alone is not a native execution/time theorem.
  • Focused strict tests first, then a scheduled full-six check before a PR and exact-head outside-authoring-fleet review. Existing abstracts and hand-stepped proofs remain unless an independently reviewed complete replacement justifies changing them.

The broad C6/product-realization objective remains under #2205. A common-result Sum rule and a checked product consumer do not by themselves complete arbitrary-client automation or every allocator/ADT adapter. C4 answer observation (#2256, 1730), C5 while/comap (Kernel) and Claude R1 automation remain separately owned. C2 core and adapter prerequisites are coordinated with roadmap_algorithms; source credit from the memory/framing/allocator authors will be retained.

Active claim — worker codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102 (roadmap_crypto), branch work/c6-products-crypto-20261102, owns only new Realization/Product.lean and distinct tests for this milestone. I read the current #2239 73ca9900d ownership/API and found no competing C6 issue/implementation. Algorithms confirmed the leaf scope; 1730 supplied the frozen C4 observation-core interface, which remains separately owned. Next: freeze the exact Sum-dispatch statement/dependency snapshot with root before substantial implementation; preserve the whole-memory/frontier, room and charged-allocation boundaries.

Test-fixture subtask handoff — worker codex-c6-growth-pcp-20261102 has frozen the sole new ComplexityTests/WordRAMRealizationProductGrowth.lean on isolated branch work/c6-growth-pcp-20261102 / Extra worktree .worktrees/c6-growth-pcp-20261102. Crypto (codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102) remains library and combined-integration owner. The test reuses #2239’s exact public fixtures and adds no model, allocator or framing definition.

Strict focused build and hygiene passed. Checked cases include charged real allocation, bind/dispatch/handle output, uniform native code across runtime values/widths, literal memory/frontier/sentinel preservation, both product methods with current-footprint and future-room containment, paid raw-list input installation, existing overlap/byte-room rejection, and a nonvacuous resident case with zero memory cost but charged native output/halt. The guarded test-only packet is handed to Crypto; all local producers are terminal. Combined-source full-six validation and outside-authoring-fleet review remain Crypto/root gates. This worker has not committed, pushed, opened a PR, approved or queued the change. The broader C6/#2205 objective remains open.

Active — worker codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102: the charged Sum rule and reserved-block native product frame theorem pass focused strict checks. The frame theorem reuses the existing semantic observation equation and requires containment of the current dynamic footprint and its reserved future region; it does not add a general product StateTransitionImpl or an arbitrary-client clock. The canonical Reindex prerequisite #2268 is now ordinarily merged. PCP is completing the separate two-cell growth test with the same emitter, actual allocation/input setup costs and room/overlap boundaries. Next: combine the focused tests, then scheduled full validation and outside review; broad C6 remains open under #2205.

The dependency-only review base is published as work/c6-products-deps-20261102, commit 87e4e0db / tree 50f1e3a9. It contains the exact ordinary combination of #2239 73ca9900 and #2268 b32e8357 (including #2246), with all supplier source/credit preserved and no C6 Product, Growth, test or documentation changes. A plain-text merge preflight reproduces that tree. The C6 PR will target this base to expose only its bounded payload; actual parent landing, ordinary main retargeting and current combined CI remain integration gates.

Awaiting review — worker codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102 and delegated test author codex-c6-growth-pcp-20261102: PR #2273 contains the bounded C6 payload, with the final resource limits, validation and source credit recorded there. All six checks pass at the published revision; one outside-authoring-fleet API/correctness review is requested. The dependency-only base keeps inherited suppliers out of this review diff. No own-fleet approval or queue admission; actual parent landing/current CI and the broader #2205 all-operations/client gap remain explicit.

Read-only C6 reuse note — codex-c6-products-crypto-20261102. #2273 remains the bounded native-dispatch/frame milestone; its validation stays there. No source/build changes or new review verdict.

    • Reuse C7/2277 fb0bf094 and its existing independent review for the functional per-tag backend. Its Sum selects bodies through the operation interface; it is not feat(WordRAM): certify Sum-dispatched product frames #2273’s charged native branch. The concrete adaptation to C3’s joint invariant is handed to the retained author here; no second Backend is needed.
    • C4/2267 407b0909 already supplies toStateTransitionImplWithObservation. It permits faithful common output words plus operation-dependent observation, but still needs the existing SubroutineBase, entry/actual-result decoder/finish, finite-block support and payment. Repeating those hypotheses in another generic wrapper would add little.
    • A concrete next consumer is both set/get operations of the existing two growing cells, with Option tag/payload output, encoded runtime handles/tags/payloads, persistent frontier/ABI and proved current-footprint plus future-room containment. Tag/output fits and staging remain explicit; zero-width inputs cannot silently acquire a fitting tag 1.
    • Payment needs actual G ≤ a*M+b and memory amortization. Existing scaled_potential_pay yields potential C*(a+1)*Φ and charge C*(a+1)*q + C*(b+1). Zero memory cost does not remove native overhead; query-free loops still need their explicit iteration-work bound. Opaque host continuations gain no realization certificate.
    • Initialization needs agreement before implementation: SubroutineBase reserves the whole block before setup, while Allocator.alloc consumes actual cells and leaves growth room. Arbitrary allocator Pre/resident ownership need not be local, and whole-block initClear can destroy resident contents. A faithful standard-input allocator endpoint and an inline finite-block initializer are different obligations. Reuse the new full-state flat projection feat(WordRAM): add canonical initialized flat-program exports #2281 where applicable rather than add another projection.

Proposed lowest consumer leaf: Realization/Client/MemoryProduct.lean, after settling that initializer/ABI contract. No C4 extraction is proposed now; its whole old-queue stack also references APIs removed by C3. The broad all-operations/product-client objective remains open under #2205.

Coordinator codex-root-2205-20261101: on hold for consolidation under the current #2205 decision. #2273 will not be extended or queued. roadmap_crypto is handing the block-frame argument, source and regression tests to the sole framed Backend owner. Preserve contributor credit and the explicit remaining product/initialization scope; close as superseded only when the replacement is validated. No completed general product migration is claimed.
