feat: glide back to the present in conversations - #1250
Clicking the back-to-present button jumps straight to the newest message. This makes it glide there instead, so a long jump looks like motion instead of a teleport. Reduced motion still jumps instantly.
Changes
glideToPresent in lib/chat-scroll.ts - a requestAnimationFrame glide, capped at 500 ms, returns a cancel function.
The button uses it. Wheel, touch, key and pointer input cancels the glide.
Progress is clamped, so a frame that lands before the start can't move you backwards.
Trade-off
The curve is ease-out, so it's quickest at the start. For very long distances that means a big first step. I kept it because the 500 ms cap stops long threads from crawling, and it feels right in practice. Happy to change it if you'd rather have something more even.

Validation
bun run test:types pass
bun run test:lint pass
bun run test:unit / tests/Unit/ChatScroll.test.ts 11 pass

Full composer test not run locally, relying on CI.
Note: bun run test:unit only matches *.test.ts, so ChatScroll.test.tsx needs bunx vp test.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Returning to the latest message now uses a smooth animated scroll that adjusts to the distance and respects reduced-motion preferences.
The animation can be interrupted by jumping to another message or interacting with the conversation.
While the animation is active, new messages continue to update the seen position without interrupting the scroll. When scrolling ends or is interrupted, the conversation refreshes its position and unseen-message indicators to reflect the latest messages and current scroll location.
Chat scroll utilities now provide a timed glide to the present. ConversationThread uses it when jumping to the latest message and coordinates scroll state, pin clearance, unseen messages, and cancellation while the glide runs.
jumpToLatest glides to the present. Jump requests, unmounting, and scroll-anchor release cancel an active glide. Scroll and pin-clearance updates are coordinated while the glide runs.
A press on certain message controls can leave the glide running instead of preserving the current reading position. This is a bounded issue with a localized fix.

Cancel the glide for pointer input on message content.
When a pointer press starts on a message, event.target !== event.currentTarget, so this handler does not cancel the glide. A user who starts selecting or dragging message content can therefore have the viewport continue moving under the pointer. Call releaseScrollAnchor() for bubbled pointer presses too; it does not prevent the pointer event’s default action.

Cancel the glide during capture-phase pointer handling.
Reaction chips and voice-note controls stop pointer-down propagation before the scroller’s bubbling handler runs. A press on either control can therefore leave the active glide running. Register this handler in the capture phase.
