Summary

  • New website/src/components/code-dialog.astro: a native <dialog> with a title bar, close button, and a scrolling body holding the Starlight <Code> block. One delegated click listener serves every instance. Replaces the inline IDE card ("See machine code" button) and both lab accordions ("View code" bars).
  • Dark theme on the home page. The theme resolves before first paint from the same starlight-theme localStorage key Starlight uses, so the header toggle and the docs picker drive one shared theme. Dark palette goes through the existing Tailwind color vars; cards, cables, and the code dialog get dark variants for contrast.
  • "See machine code" is a soft pink filled CTA. The header's dead hamburger (no sidebar on the home page) is removed.
  • Pacman demo: ghost and board reset in the same task as pacman's revive, plus a one-tick hold, so the board no longer shows pacman running on a still-eaten board with no ghost.

Test plan

  • pnpm astro build passes, oxlint clean
  • Chrome 1440 wide, light and dark: dialog centers and scrolls, backdrop click and close button close it, cables white in dark mode
  • Theme sync: toggling on the home page and reloading the docs shows the same theme in Starlight's picker
  • Throwaway vitest for the revive: pacman eating, board playing with score 0, ghost roaming once, one held tick before moving

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Replace the inline IDE card under "Fast machines" and the two lab
accordions with a single CodeDialog component: a native <dialog> with a
scrolling body and one delegated open/close listener. Drops the
accordion scripts and CSS from the home page.

The header's hamburger targeted a sidebar that exists on no page. The
dialog trigger is now a soft pink filled button so it reads as the
section's call to action.

The home page resolves its theme before first paint from the same
localStorage key Starlight uses, so the header toggle and the docs
picker drive one shared theme. Dark palette goes through the existing
Tailwind color vars; the black demo cards, cables, and the code dialog
get dark-mode variants so they keep their contrast.

The ghost and board were reset on the tick after pacman's revive timer,
so for one tick pacman stood on a still-eaten board with no ghost, then
moved off as the board came back. A group sync now resets both in the
same task as the revive, and the first tick after it is held so the
fresh board is visible for a beat.
