Goal

Make Local Bridge usable as a personal Agent entry point without developing an AI engine or exposing enterprise tools to agents.

Changes

  • local-bridge agent launches the official OpenCode CLI on a dynamically discovered opencode/*-free candidate, never a paid model fallback.
  • agent pi starts Pi in chat-only / --no-tools mode with its own authentication.
  • agent doctor and agent models support onboarding and current free-model discovery.
  • Isolated per-user workspace by default, explicit --dir override; OpenCode plan mode and explicit approvals for shell / edits.
  • Existing read-only MCP and CloudFile interfaces unchanged.
  • Portable binary CI artifacts and user documentation.

Important limitations

  • Requires user-installed official Pi/OpenCode CLIs. No silent installers, private API impersonation, or login bypass.
  • OpenCode -free model names indicate current candidates, not a permanent price/quota/availability guarantee.
  • This is a CLI starter, not yet a GUI/tray application, authenticated multi-tenant Personal Agent, or Local Bridge tool approval center.
  • Free model requests need on-device smoke testing after install; CI tests argument filtering/config permissions, not upstream provider uptime.

Validation

  • CI: Rust fmt / clippy / tests / builds on macOS, Windows and Ubuntu.
  • Human smoke: agent doctor, agent models, agent, agent pi.
