Closes #108

Adds src/content/docs/compare/keycloak.mdx (sidebar order 5; the Auth0 page in progress on docs/compare-auth0 takes 4).

Draft pending the maintainer's sign-off, and a re-check of every source below on the publish day. Keycloak ships often (26.8.0 on 2026-10-01, 26.8.1 on 2026-10-13), so version-dependent statements (SCIM, passkeys, rolling updates) need re-checking.

What the page covers

Footprint, setup, theming, upgrades, passkeys, protocols, organizations, SCIM, architecture and migration. "Choose Keycloak If" comes first: SAML, LDAP/AD/Kerberos federation, a standards-based OIDC provider, SCIM, passwords and realms, maturity and SPI extensibility.

Note for review: the issue assumed Keycloak has no native SCIM. Keycloak's own docs say otherwise: the SCIM API was preview in 26.7.0 and is a supported, default-enabled feature since 26.8.0 (enabled per realm). The page says so, and lists SCIM under "Choose Keycloak If".

Dropped for lack of a Keycloak-owned source: "flow changes apply instantly" and general JVM-footprint complaints. The theme point is stated only as Keycloak's own guides put it (overridden templates may need updating on upgrade; the upgrading guide has a theme migration step).

Keycloak sources (all checked 2026-10-20)

How the Seamless footprint figures were measured (2026-10-20)

  • Image: ghcr.io/fells-code/seamless-auth-api:v0.19.1. Compressed size is the sum of layer sizes in docker manifest inspect for each platform manifest: about 120 MB for both linux/amd64 and linux/arm64. Uncompressed: docker image inspect on the pulled linux/arm64 image, 687,384,909 bytes.
  • Memory: the API repo's docker-compose.yml with SEAMLESS_AUTH_IMAGE pinned to v0.19.1 (development mode, empty database, no traffic), docker stats --no-stream on Docker Desktop for macOS arm64. About 138 MiB right after start, about 73 MiB idle three minutes later; Postgres about 36 MiB.
  • The page states plainly that this is not like-for-like with Keycloak's published sizing (a loaded pod with 10,000 cached sessions).

No Keycloak memory or image figure was measured; the page only uses Keycloak's published guidance.

Checks

  • npx prettier --check .: All matched files use Prettier code style
  • npm run lint: exit 0 (eslint, no-H1 check, SDK results check)
  • npm run typecheck: 0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 hints
  • npm run build: 54 pages built, /compare/keycloak/ included; internal links and anchors on the page checked against dist/

Compares footprint, setup, theming, upgrades, passkeys, protocols, organizations and SCIM,
with a "Choose Keycloak If" section first. Every Keycloak fact links to a keycloak.org page
or the keycloak/keycloak repository, with the date it was checked. Seamless footprint
figures are measured, and the method is stated on the page.
