### Changed

- **Breaking.** `Options.BusyPoll` is required, how often a waiting connection tries a lock again, from 1ms up to `BusyTimeout`. Set it from a setting of your own. Keep it small, because each opening try can block for about one `BusyPoll`.
- Each connection waits for a lock through dbkit's own busy handler, so `PRAGMA busy_timeout` reads 0, and setting that pragma brings back a wait that ignores the context.
- `sql.Conn.Raw` hands out a dbkit wrapper, so the driver's methods outside `database/sql`'s interfaces, such as `Serialize`, `NewBackup` and the hooks, are no longer reachable through it.
- The module needs Go 1.27.2.
- Requires `dbkit` 0.3.0.

### Fixed

- A statement, transaction or snapshot checkpoint waiting for a lock stops once its context ends. A prepared statement's run stops within one `BusyPoll` of its context ending. A `BeginTx` error after its context ends also matches the context error.
- A first connection to a file that another process is switching to WAL tries again every `BusyPoll` until `BusyTimeout` passes or its context ends, instead of failing busy at once.

For **`modernc.org/sqlite` v1.60.1**, the matches are not all in the files you named:

- `conn.go` has **no `QueryContext` or `ExecContext` methods**; those context-aware driver methods are implemented on `*stmt` in `stmt.go`. They pass the context into the internal query/exec routines, which check cancellation and arrange to interrupt SQLite. ([github.com](https://github.com/modernc-org/sqlite/blob/v1.60.1/conn.go))
- `rows.go` implements `(*rows).Next(dest []driver.Value)`, **without a context parameter**. It advances the statement with `step`; cancellation handling is set up by the statement’s query routine. ([github.com](https://github.com/modernc-org/sqlite/blob/v1.60.1/rows.go))

Restore the newest live span after each call.

A later ExecContext or query on the same Tx or pinned sql.Conn can run between two Rows.Next calls. It replaces span R, then clears the span when it returns. The next busy Rows.Next uses the nil-context fallback and can wait until BusyTimeout.

Keep all open spans and restore the newest span that remains open. Do not restore a closed predecessor.

Add a test that keeps rows open, runs ExecContext on the same connection, and checks that internalSpanDone(wait) still returns the rows' Done channel.

Update busyConn.during and busyWait span tracking so ending a call restores the
newest span that is still open instead of clearing the active span or restoring
a closed predecessor. Add a regression test that leaves rows open, runs
ExecContext on the same connection, and verifies internalSpanDone still returns
the rows’ Done channel.

P1 Queries cancel unrelated statements

QueryContext now leaves its context in the connection-wide span until its rows close. On a pinned sql.Conn, prepare a statement before opening query rows, then execute that statement with a different context while another connection holds the write lock. Prepared-statement execution does not install its own span, so canceling the open query makes the statement stop waiting and fail with SQLITE_BUSY even though its own context is still live.

This caused the write to fail in all three reproduced cases; the identical writes on the previous revision waited for the lock to clear and succeeded. Set the context around each actual driver operation, including prepared-statement execution, so one query cannot cancel an unrelated write.

Comment:
**Queries cancel unrelated statements**

`QueryContext` now leaves its context in the connection-wide `span` until its rows close. On a pinned `sql.Conn`, prepare a statement before opening query rows, then execute that statement with a different context while another connection holds the write lock. Prepared-statement execution does not install its own span, so canceling the open query makes the statement stop waiting and fail with `SQLITE_BUSY` even though its own context is still live.

This caused the write to fail in all three reproduced cases; the identical writes on the previous revision waited for the lock to clear and succeeded. Set the context around each actual driver operation, including prepared-statement execution, so one query cannot cancel an unrelated write.
