This PR will stay as a draft for now and is a living work in progress.

It is used to guide discussion on a new architecture for how we aim to share CI throughout open and closed source.

The main goal is to use as much of the existing stuart commands and its existing infrastructure. But, the other big thing is to reduce duplicating a lot of the YAML logic between ADO and Github. This is done by reducing them to python scripts that invoke the relevant stuart commands, and the YAML serve as simple orchestrators --> this follows very similar to the problem flowey solves in openvmm.

NOTES to self:

  • Bring back dependabot
  • Split the build matrix across oss and closed?
  • Reconcile firmware versioning
  • Test real builds (github // ADO)
  • Prepare and upload artifacts (stuart plugin?)
  • Bring back OpenVMM testing

Restore shared authentication files omitted from the temporary commit and align OneBranch adapters with the validated closed pipeline.

Merge main at f2ec5fb. Retain the intentional removal of the OpenVMM action until artifact publication and OSS testing are restored.

Preserve GitHub and OneBranch artifact contracts, including legacy NuGet payload paths. Package only shipping Windows flavors after all checks and builds; exercise PR packing without external publication. Restore main GitHub releases while OpenVMM remains deferred.

Keep artifact IDs stable and publication gates strict. Report provenance mismatches precisely and log dirty paths when computing the firmware version flag.
