Summary
Backport #9212 to stable35. Open Full documents for rendered changes, keep Changes for identical or syntax-only comparisons, and stop initial positioning when the layout settles or the reader interacts.
Merge after #9212 if the behavior change is accepted for stable35. Otherwise, Collectives can use the source-label fix in #9214 alone.
Tests
The combined stable35 changes passed 1,780 unit tests, lint, type checks, the build, and 81 browser and memory checks locally. CI also needs to pass against the current stable35 base.
