AI Engineer | Computer Vision | Open Source | Maker

I'm an engineer, technology leader and maker with a passion for AI, computer vision, robotics, immersive technologies and building things.

I'm currently Head of AI at OpenWorks Engineering, leading development of AI and autonomous systems. Previously, I co-founded COSMONiO (acquired by Intel in 2020) and was Product Owner of Intel Geti.

I'm a maker at heart and enjoy everything from writing software and training AI models to experimenting with electronics, Unity3D, augmented reality and virtual reality.

🚀 Open Source Projects

I enjoy building tools that make complex technologies easier to use, experiment with and extend.

🧩 PyNode

Visual programming for Python, AI and computer vision.

A Node-RED-inspired visual workflow editor with a Python backend. Build computer vision and AI pipelines by connecting nodes rather than writing endless boilerplate.

  • Drag-and-drop visual workflow editor
  • Python-based, extensible node architecture
  • YOLO, OpenCV, tracking and vision-language models
  • Real-time video processing and inference
  • MQTT, TCP, UDP and REST integrations

📷 IPyCam

A virtual IP camera written in Python.

Simulate ONVIF-compatible IP cameras for developing, testing and integrating computer vision systems without needing physical camera hardware.

🎞️ FrameSource

A flexible Python framework for video frame acquisition.

A common interface for acquiring frames from different sources, making it easier to build camera-agnostic video processing applications.

Experimenting with Sony camera control through Python.

Part of my ongoing interest in connecting photography, software and hardware.

🔬 Things I'm interested in

  • Artificial Intelligence — Deep learning, object detection, tracking, vision-language models and edge inference.
  • Computer Vision — Real-time video analytics, cameras, imaging systems and visual automation.
  • Robotics & Autonomy — Intelligent systems that can perceive, reason and interact with the physical world.
  • AR, VR & 3D — Unity3D, immersive applications, interactive 3D environments and augmented reality.
  • Developer Tools — Making complicated technology easier to use through better tooling and interfaces.
  • Electronics & Making — ESP32, embedded systems, sensors, 3D printing and hardware experimentation.
  • Photography — Wildlife, landscapes, cameras and everything that goes into capturing a great image.

I particularly enjoy projects that combine several of these interests.
