Google is discontinuing the model behind the Nano Banana Edit public endpoint, so the endpoint is being retired rather than migrated. Nano Banana 2 Edit already exists as a separate endpoint and is the successor. - model page: Warning banner above the intro, so it is the first thing a reader sees - reference table: flag the row, so the retirement is visible while browsing the model list rather than only on the page itself - release notes: new September 2026 entry using the existing Badge color="red" Deprecation pattern (this page is an RSS feed) Linear: FDE-372 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Summary
Google is discontinuing the model behind the Nano Banana Edit public endpoint, so the endpoint is being retired rather than migrated. Nano Banana 2 Edit already exists as a separate endpoint and is the successor, so this PR just tells people that clearly.
Retirement date: September 28, 2026.

Changes
public-endpoints/models/nano-banana-edit.mdx—<Warning>banner placed above the intro paragraph, so it is the first thing on the page:public-endpoints/reference.mdx— the model list row is flagged too, so someone scanning the table sees it without opening the page.release-notes.mdx— new September 2026 entry using the existing<Badge color="red">Deprecation</Badge>pattern already used for REST API v1 and the GraphQL API. This page is an RSS feed, so it is where customers actually watch for this.Notes for the reviewer
google/nano-banana-2/edit. That plan is dropped, so docs(nano-banana-edit): update pricing for nano-banana-2 migration (FDE-372) #842 is closed — pricing on this page stays at the current$0.038.enable_safety_checker. Both are accurate for the model as it exists today, and the endpoint is going away in two weeks, so I left them alone.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
