Release 5.8.4.

• __version__ is 5.8.4 and __build__ is 0x050804.
• The changelog's Unreleased section becomes 5.8.4 (2026-11-05), with a one-line summary. It lists only the SafeDisk.with_numpy() changes that affect behavior: numpy scalars and arrays in keys, the new numpy types in values, and the fix for short-lived array views. The speed entry is left out of the release notes.

After merging, pushing the tag v5.8.4 runs the release workflow. It checks the tag against __version__, builds, waits for approval of the pypi environment, publishes to PyPI through trusted publishing and creates the GitHub release from this changelog section. If this merges on a later day, the date in the changelog heading needs updating before the tag.

Testing

• pytest with the CI test dependencies: 984 passed, 2 skipped on Python 3.12.
• blue, isort, flake8, mypy, pylint, doc8 and the Sphinx build are clean.
• A local dry run of the release build passes: sdist and wheel build, twine check --strict.
