The Microsoft Whiteboard app for Windows, signed in with a personal Microsoft account, shows a banner above the board: "Starting from September 25, 2026, you will no longer be able to create or edit whiteboards. Please export any whiteboards you'd like to keep before October 16, 2026, after which they will be permanently deleted." The support pages describe the app retirement and the deletion of Azure-based work and school boards; this banner is the only place Microsoft states the September 25 edit freeze and the deletion of personal-account boards.

  • site/export-microsoft-whiteboard.html: the personal-account paragraph quotes the banner.
  • docs/retirement/README.md: a dated entry with the wording, and the citing rule now includes it.
  • docs/retirement/Microsoft Whiteboard in-app notice (personal account).png: a crop of the banner from the 27 September recording.

Site content only; no code is touched.

The Windows app, signed in with a personal Microsoft account, shows a
banner that editing ended on September 25, 2026 and that boards not
exported before October 16 will be permanently deleted. The support pages
do not say this, so the export guide's personal-account paragraph quotes
the banner, and docs/retirement keeps a crop of it with the wording.
