Zig 0.17 changes
@bitCastfrom memory reinterpretation to logical bit order. The IPv4 listener previously relied on native integer storage and would write reversed address bytes on a big-endian target. This port usesreadInt(..., Endian.native)and checks the actual socket address bytes independently. The parser retains seven intentional logical casts. New scalar-oracle tests cover fixed-name equality, ASCII folding, delimiter lanes, tails, starting offsets and competing matches. The port also updates reflection, enum backing conversions, optimization tags, run arguments, formatting paths and generated embedding paths, with exact 0.17.0 compiler pins.
CI installs official archives using recorded SHA-256 values verified against Zig's official minisign key. The official download index currently omits 0.17.0. Historical performance receipts remain unchanged.
Validation: native macOS 26.6.2 arm64 and omarx1 Linux x86_64 Debug/Safe verification, independent embedding, libc-free variants, and all six HTTP wire/lifecycle suites passed. The consumed commit
65d584bf1a00451577235281a290303b10d0ae3bpassed hosted Linux/macOS and native Windows. Cross-compilation is separate from native evidence. No performance comparison was run.The continuation fixture separates its three-second idle limit from the unchanged short request deadlines. The first hosted Mac scheduling failure remains preserved. README compiler guidance is updated; dated performance evidence retains its original compiler scope.
The wiki migration guide and upgrade #6 records these lessons and evidence. This engine owns its OS adapters and does not instantiate the experimental standard-library Dispatch, Uring or Kqueue backends that the broader wiki found unbuildable.
The README-only successor
19223caff116de440207a161969d88c60cdccfb8labels the excluded benchmark recipe as historical 0.16 and requires a matching archived compiler pin. It also passed native Linux/macOS. This excluded documentation changes none of the consumed package inputs or prior Windows qualification.
