fix(information-highlight): Remove trailing margin when Body or Heading is the last element - #4230
InformationHighlight.Body (1rem, gap.md) and InformationHighlight.Heading (gap.xs) always applied margin-block-end, even when nothing followed them. The margin is meant to separate the element from content below it (typically the Link), so when it is the last element it added unnecessary space at the bottom of the component. Design confirmed this is a bug.
This is a CSS-only fix: &:last-child { margin-block-end: 0 } on the Body and Heading stencils. :last-child was chosen over :has(+ link) so it keeps working if other elements (e.g. a button) are placed after Body.
The Body fix is also being made on support in #4229 (v15), where only Body is affected. Body.tsx differs substantially between support and master, so this is a separate PR rather than relying on the support → master merge; that merge will need to take this branch's version of these files.
actionPlacement="end" is unaffected: Body already sets margin-block-end: 0 there, and Heading is never the last child in that layout.

Release Note
Removes the extra space below InformationHighlight.Body and InformationHighlight.Heading when they are the last element. Spacing is unchanged when other content follows. Chromatic will show a visual diff on the "Only Heading" and "Only Body" states.
modules/react/information-highlight/lib/parts/Body.tsx and Heading.tsx
Areas for Feedback? (optional)
Testing
Chromatic should show an intended diff only in the "Only Heading" and "Only Body" rows (Low/High emphasis) of Testing/Indicators/Information Highlight.
Testing Manually
Run yarn start and open the InformationHighlight Heading and Body examples (each alone). There should be no extra space below the text.
Open the Basic example. Spacing between Heading, Body and Link should be unchanged.
Open the Action Placement End example. It should be unchanged.
Optionally run yarn cypress:run --component --spec cypress/component/InformationHighlight.spec.tsx. The new "no space below" tests fail without the stencil changes and pass with them.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Headings and body text in information highlights no longer leave unnecessary space below them when they’re the final content.
Spacing between headings, body text, and links remains when additional content follows, preserving the layout of complete information highlights.

Walkthrough
The Body and Heading stencils set bottom margin to zero when each is the last child. Cypress tests check last-child spacing, spacing when content follows, and accessibility.
Cypress tests check accessibility and verify zero bottom margin for last-child Heading and Body, plus nonzero spacing when content follows. The examples remove unused React imports.
Workday/canvas-kit#4229: This PR fixes the corresponding Body trailing-margin behavior on the support branch.

The spacing examples are covered, but the new selectors lack the required static-state testing hooks. This is suitable for bounded follow-up.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title names the fix type (fix), the scope (information-highlight), and the change (removing trailing margin when Body or Heading is the last element). The raw summary and PR objectives confirm the changeset does this: the Body and Heading stencils set their end margin to 0 when they are the last child, and the spec adds spacing checks for that behavior. The title is specific and matches the main change. It is 91 characters, which is longer than ideal, but it stays readable and does not include file lists or vague terms.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[#4228] The whole-PR diff (merge base to head) changes the master stencils for both parts.
Body.tsx: adds a marginEnd var. The base style sets the spacing token through [marginEnd] and sets marginBlockEnd: marginEnd. The rule &:where(:last-child) sets [marginEnd]: 0. This removes the trailing margin when Body is the last child and keeps it when content follows.
Heading.tsx: uses the same pattern with gap.xs. This covers the master-only Heading requirement.
Body keeps its actionPlacement: end override, which the diff does not change.
cypress/component/InformationHighlight.spec.tsx: adds checks that Heading and Body have computed margin-bottom: 0px when last. The Basic example checks that the Heading-to-Body and Body-to-Link margins are not 0px. These cover the acceptance criteria for master.
Limits of this assessment:
The support (v15) Body fix is outside this PR. The PR states it is handled in #4229, which this assessment did not review.
The variable indirection ([marginEnd] as a computed key) depends on the stencil vars runtime behavior. I did not run the Cypress tests. The result rests on the diff and the spec assertions.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
All changes connect to #4228.
Body.tsx and Heading.tsx: the trailing-margin fix and the variable indirection that supports it. The code comments state that the indirection keeps consumer cs={{marginBlockEnd}} overrides working. This is an in-scope design choice.
InformationHighlight.spec.tsx: tests for the fix. They cover Heading-last, Body-last, and following-content spacing.
Basic.tsx, Body.tsx, Heading.tsx examples: removal of an unused React import. This is behavior-neutral cleanup in files the spec imports. It is minor and does not change public API or component behavior.
No unrelated component behavior or public API changes appear in the diff.

Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 3 files.

- Line 19: Update the last-child selectors in the Body and Heading stencils to
use :where(:last-child), lowering their specificity so consumer cs classes can
override the default marginBlockEnd.
- Line 19: Update the last-child selectors in Body and Heading to include
matching .last-child class selectors, applying the same marginBlockEnd rule to
both structural and class-based selection.

…t child
Nested pseudo-class rules are emitted after flat declarations in the merged class, so changing margin-block-end directly in :last-child also overrode a consumer's cs margin. Change a CSS variable instead.
