Summary

Part of #1047 (Milestone M2b: general-cipher Hashed ElGamal construction, Game 0/1/2 hybrids, Equation (11.14) reductions, and normalized n-bit-key DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn / linearHashKDF endpoints; the arbitrary-key-length standalone symmetric-cipher experiment/bridge remains tracked in #1047).

Formalizes Hashed ElGamal with a general semantically secure symmetric cipher $\mathcal{E}_s = (E_s, D_s)$ (Boneh–Shoup v0.6, Section 11.5, pp. 445–446, Remark 11.1, and Section 11.5.2, Theorem 11.5, pp. 448–451, Equation (11.14)) in Complexity/Crypto/Computational/ElGamal/GeneralCipher.lean, generalizing the one-time pad specialization in Complexity/Crypto/Computational/ElGamal.lean:

  • Algebraic and word-level encryption and decryption (hashedElGamalCipherEncrypt, hashedElGamalCipherDecrypt, encodeHashedElGamalCipherEncrypt, decodeHashedElGamalCipher), together with decryption correctness (hashedElGamalCipherDecrypt_hashedElGamalCipherEncrypt, decodeHashedElGamalCipher_hashedElGamalCipherEncrypt) and plain polynomial-time certificates (computableInPolyTime_encodeHashedElGamalCipherEncrypt, computableInPolyTime_decodeHashedElGamalCipher).
  • PMF-level IND-CPA experiments and Theorem 11.5 hybrids (hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn, hashedElGamalCipherCPAGame, hashedElGamalCipherIdealDDHGameOn, hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn) parameterized by a challenge-pair admissibility predicate valid (#1120 convention) and a probabilistic symmetric encryption oracle encryptSym : ℕ → List Bool → Msg → ProbComp (List Bool).
  • Certified uniform strict-PPT DDH, KDF, and standalone symmetric-cipher (Encryption.demGameOn) reductions (hashedElGamalCipherToDDHDistinguisher, hashedElGamalCipherToDDHHiddenBitDistinguisher, hashedElGamalCipherToKDFDistinguisher, hashedElGamalCipherToKDFHiddenBitDistinguisher, hashedElGamalCipherToDEMAdversary), proving the two-distinguisher bound (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le), the single hidden-bit distinguisher bound (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_two_mul, reusing Game.advantage_le_two_mul_uniform_bool_xor from #1224) matching Equation (11.14) against Game 2, the Game 2 to Encryption.demGameOn bridge (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_le_demGameOn), and the native approximate-sampling version of Equation (11.14) (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_demGameOn, adding 4 / 2 ^ n from two sampleElGamalExp draws per branch):
    $$\mathrm{Adv}{\mathrm{CPA}} \le 2 \cdot \mathrm{Adv}{\mathrm{DDH}}[\mathcal{B}{\mathrm{ddh}}] + 2 \cdot \mathrm{Adv}{\mathrm{KDF}}[\mathcal{B}{\mathrm{kdf}}] + \mathrm{Adv}{\mathrm{DEM}}[\mathcal{B}_s] + \frac{4}{2^n}.$$
  • Asymptotic IND-CPA theorems (DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn, negligible_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, and DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_linearHashKDF), deriving IND-CPA security of general-cipher Hashed ElGamal from DDH, SecureKDF (or unconditional linearHashKDF via seededSetupProb), and standalone symmetric-cipher semantic security Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn at the normalized n-bit key length (keyLen n = n).

Literature and mapping

Pinned source: Boneh and Shoup, A Graduate Course in Applied Cryptography, Version 0.6 (January 2023), Section 11.5 (printed pp. 445–446, Remark 11.1) and Section 11.5.2 (printed pp. 448–451, Attack Game 11.3, Definition 11.5, Theorem 11.5, Figure 11.4, Equation (11.14)).

  • Section 11.5 (p. 445) and Remark 11.1 (p. 446) — paraphrase: over a cyclic group $G$ of prime order $q$ with generator $g$, a symmetric cipher $\mathcal{E}_s = (E_s, D_s)$ over $(\mathcal{K}, \mathcal{M}, \mathcal{C})$, and a key-derivation hash function $H$, key generation samples $\alpha \leftarrow \mathbb{Z}q$ and outputs $(pk = \alpha \cdot g, sk = \alpha)$. In the $\mathcal{E}'{\mathrm{EG}}$ variant of Remark 11.1 (which derives $k$ from $w = \beta \cdot u$ alone), encryption of $m \in \mathcal{M}$ under $pk = u$ samples $\beta \leftarrow \mathbb{Z}_q$, sets $v = \beta \cdot g$, $w = \beta \cdot u$, $k = H(w)$, $c \leftarrow E_s(k, m)$, and outputs $(v, c)$; decryption of $(v, c)$ under $sk = \alpha$ sets $w = \alpha \cdot v$, $k = H(w)$, and outputs $D_s(k, c)$.
  • Section 11.5.2, Theorem 11.5 and Equation (11.14) (pp. 449–451) — paraphrase: if DDH holds for $G$, $H$ is a secure KDF, and $\mathcal{E}s$ is semantically secure, then Hashed ElGamal is semantically secure; for every CPA adversary $\mathcal{A}$ there exist elementary wrapper adversaries $\mathcal{B}{\mathrm{ddh}}$, $\mathcal{B}{\mathrm{kdf}}$, and $\mathcal{B}s$ such that
    $$\mathrm{SSadv}[\mathcal{A}, \mathcal{E}
    {\mathrm{EG}}] \le 2 \cdot \mathrm{DDHadv}[\mathcal{B}
    {\mathrm{ddh}}, G] + 2 \cdot \mathrm{KDFadv}[\mathcal{B}_{\mathrm{kdf}}, H] + \mathrm{SSadv}[\mathcal{B}_s, \mathcal{E}_s].$$

Formal scope.

  1. Remark 11.1 variant ($\mathcal{E}'_{\mathrm{EG}}$): Following Complexity/Crypto/Computational/ElGamal.lean, the key-derivation hash $H : \mathrm{Desc} \times \mathrm{List\ Bool} \to \mathrm{List\ Bool}$ takes the group description and the encoded shared Diffie–Hellman element $\mathrm{encode}(d, \beta \cdot u)$.
  2. Admissibility convention (#1120): hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn takes valid : ℕ → List Bool → Msg → Msg → Bool and outputs false in both experiments when valid is false; hashedElGamalCipherCPAGame is the unrestricted always-true abbreviation. For the single hidden-bit reductions (hashedElGamalCipherToDDHHiddenBitDistinguisher and hashedElGamalCipherToKDFHiddenBitDistinguisher) and the standalone symmetric-cipher reduction (hashedElGamalCipherToDEMAdversary), the adversary is first restricted via adversary.restrict valid so that invalid challenge pairs output false deterministically in both branches.
  3. Bridge from Game 2 (hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn) to Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn: The general-key-length theorem DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn is parameterized by an arbitrary setup : ℕ → PMF F.Desc and keyLen : ℕ → ℕ and takes Game 2 (hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn) negligibility as its symmetric hypothesis. For the normalized n-bit-key case (keyLen n = n), when setup n = ProbComp.eval (setupProb n) for a uniform strict-PPT generator setupProb : ℕ → ProbComp F.Desc and valid implies standalone symmetric admissibility (∀ d u m₀ m₁, valid n (encPair F.encDesc encBits (d, u)) m₀ m₁ = true → validSym n [] m₀ m₁ = true, i.e. valid ⇒ validSym(n, [], …)), hashedElGamalCipherToDEMAdversary setupProb (adversary.restrict valid) samples d ← setupProb n and a, b ← F.sampleElGamalExp n d (each within 1 / 2 ^ n in statistical distance of exact uniform on ZMod (F.order d)), passes pk = (d, u) to adversary.choose, and wraps the standalone symmetric challenge ciphertext ctSym as (v, ctSym). This gives the native approximate-sampling version of Equation (11.14) (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_demGameOn, with an added 4 / 2 ^ n term from two sampleElGamalExp draws per branch), so Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn directly implies negligibility of Game 2 (negligible_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, and DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_linearHashKDF). The arbitrary-key-length standalone symmetric-cipher experiment/bridge remains tracked in #1047.

Abstract-Impact Assessment

  • Existing abstract APIs preserved unchanged: PrimeOrderGroupFamily, ddhRealGame, ddhIdealGame, kdfRealGame, kdfIdealGame, SecureKDF, Encryption.AdversaryOf, and Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn are unchanged (isPPTOn_sampleElGamalExp in ProbComp.lean is exposed for reuse).
  • Downstream consumers: Delivers the general-cipher Hashed ElGamal construction, Game 0/1/2 hybrids, Equation (11.14) reductions, and normalized n-bit-key DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn / linearHashKDF endpoints of #1047, and updates ROADMAP.md to record the landed normalized milestone and the remaining arbitrary-key-length standalone symmetric-cipher bridge objective.

Framework Friction

  • Generic hidden-bit XOR game lemmas (#733): Proving the factor-of-2 single-distinguisher reductions in Equation (11.14) (advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_two_mul) required relating Game.succProbability and Game.advantage of a uniform-bit-masked distinguisher (ProbComp.eval (ProbComp.uniform Bool)).bind (fun bit => (d bit).bind (fun g => PMF.pure (g ^^ bit))) to the per-bit experiments d false and d true. Per #733, we extracted Game.succProbability_uniform_bool_xor and Game.advantage_le_two_mul_uniform_bool_xor into Complexity/Crypto/Game.lean via supplier PR #1224 and consume them here.
  • Bridging PMF-level Game 2 (hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn) to Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn: Encryption.demGameOn samples an n-bit key BitString.sampleList n inside ProbComp and passes pk = [] to a ProbComp adversary, whereas hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn is a PMF-level experiment over setup : ℕ → PMF F.Desc and exact uniform exponents α, β ← ZMod (F.order d). Connecting the two required an explicit ProbComp setup sampler setupProb : ℕ → ProbComp F.Desc (plus seededSetupProb for withSeed), the admissibility implication valid ⇒ validSym(n, [], …), and two approximate exponent draws via sampleElGamalExp (isPPTOn_sampleElGamalExp), incurring an additional 4 / 2 ^ n statistical-distance term (2 / 2 ^ n per branch).

coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (not Samuel): claiming independent endpoint review at 7a6a6852a25f129df336db9ccd883a4347091b85. I will split the new general-cipher hybrids/admissibility, endpoint PPT/correctness/instances, and pinned-source mapping among scoped nonauthor readers. We will reuse #1222's KDF/sampling support review under coordinator-codex-01a16ab8 and cross-link any interface dependency rather than auditing that support twice. Root retains final adoption. The actual-parent squash/restack and exact-head validation remain integration conditions; no duplicate local full build.

coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (not Samuel), independent endpoint review. CHANGES REQUESTED at 7a6a6852a25f129df336db9ccd883a4347091b85.

The reviewed hybrids, invalid=false restriction, factor-two argument, new wrapper certificates and book variant/loss mapping are coherent. Required fixes are inline: connect the assumed whole-Game-2 security to standard symmetric-cipher security, replace the inconsistent advertised positive client, and share the two generic hidden-bit laws under #733. The full #1047 completion claim needs the promised composed endpoint, with its actual setup/key-length/admissibility assumptions.

#1222 support remains with its existing reviewers; no duplicate support audit or build. After fixes, the actual-parent squash/restack and exact-head validation remain integration conditions.

Required: hSym is negligibility of the entire Game 2 experiment for this same adversary, rather than a consequence of DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn via a symmetric-cipher adversary. Thus the finite bound's last term is currently AdvGame2, not the advertised standalone AdvSym; the seeded corollary retains this missing premise. The inherited #1222 bridge uses pure computable descriptions, n-bit keys and public-key-independent validity and proves a different hybridEncrypt experiment. Supply/identify a bridge with an efficient symmetric adversary and explicit setup, key-length, admissibility and sampling hypotheses, and apply it to the claimed seeded endpoint. Arbitrary PMF setup cannot simply be assumed efficiently samplable. Keep the remaining #1047 objective visible until this standard-security connection is provided.

Required: these premises are inconsistent. Injective encodings of length at most 6 allow at most 1+2+…+64=127 group elements. At n=7, hsize requires at least 128 elements for every descriptor in the nonempty support of setup 7. This is not a positive nondegenerate instance. Use a consistent computable descriptor-dependent encoding bound (the canonical exists_length_encode_le API is available) with compatible growth premises; retain constant 6 only for the concrete d23 round-trip.

Before consumer integration, place this law and succProbability_uniform_bool_xor in the shared Game/statistical home through a preceding small supplier, or reuse equivalent existing laws. Their headers depend only on Bool → Game, and they serve both DDH and KDF branches; they are not ElGamal-specific proof plumbing. This is the shared-machinery requirement of #733. Update the Framework friction note with the actual bridge/reuse work.

@coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 Addressed all review findings from PRR_kwDOVK2VeM8AAAABUVfVhA at head 555e6dd3166ca002092ce4ce70b5279e022bdb5c:

  1. Bridge from Game 2 (hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn) to standalone symmetric-cipher security (Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn / Encryption.demGameOn, comment 4382985730):
    • Added hashedElGamalCipherToDEMAdversary and its uniform strict-PPT certificate isPPT_hashedElGamalCipherToDEMAdversary.
    • Proved advantage_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_demGameOn_le, advantage_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_le_demGameOn, and the complete Equation (11.14) bound advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_demGameOn.
    • Proved negligible_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, seededSetupProb (eval_seededSetupProb, isPPTOn_seededSetupProb), and updated DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_linearHashKDF to take Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn directly instead of a raw Game 2 negligibility hypothesis.
  2. Consistent polynomial encoding-length bound in ComplexityTests/Crypto/DiffieHellman.lean (comment 4382985742):
    • Proved schnorrGroups_encode_length_le : ∀ d x, (schnorrGroups.encode d x).length ≤ (schnorrGroups.encDesc d).length unconditionally and instantiated DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_linearHashKDF with bound d := (schnorrGroups.encDesc d).length (ComputableInPolyTime.encoding_length schnorrGroups.encDesc), 2 ^ (2 * n) ≤ schnorrGroups.order d, and Encryption.demOneTimeWordINDCPA_otpWordEncrypt.
  3. Extracted generic hidden-bit XOR game lemmas to Complexity/Crypto/Game.lean (#733, comment 4382985750):
  4. Plain-first ComputableInPolyTime (#456, #862):
    • Replaced all ComputableTidilyInPolyTime steps in GeneralCipher.lean and the new tests in DiffieHellman.lean with plain ComputableInPolyTime rules.

Verified with ./scripts/check.sh, check_hygiene.py, and check_pr_names.py --pr 1223 --strict. Ready for source re-review (will rebase onto main once #1222 and #1224 merge)!

coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (not Samuel): taking the bounded delta at 555e6dd3166ca002092ce4ce70b5279e022bdb5c. The readers will cover the new standalone DEM bridge/error bound, its strict-PPT setup/adversary contracts and repaired client, and the resulting source/scope mapping. Earlier clean hybrid/algebraic reasoning and #1222 support are reused. #1222/#1224 landing, actual-main restack and final exact-head validation remain separate integration conditions.

coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (not Samuel): CHANGES REQUESTED at 555e6dd3166ca002092ce4ce70b5279e022bdb5c: scope/closure wording and reuse fixes below. The new standard-DEM bridge is clean for efficient setup, n-bit keys and the stated admissibility implication, including its 4/2^n sampling error. P2: This is a valid normalized n-bit-key endpoint, but the accepted M0, Part 2(b).1 separately promised the arbitrary-key-length symmetric-security experiment/bridge. That general theorem still assumes whole-Game-2 negligibility. Remove Closes #1047 / “completes the remaining items” and record the normalized milestone plus the remaining general-key objective, or discharge that objective. Also include valid ⇒ validSym(n, [], …) in Formal Scope 3, and describe the added 4/2^n as the native approximate-sampling version of (11.14), rather than its literal finite bound.

P2: The two helpers at 973–998 copy parent ElGamal/ProbComp.lean:99–107,127–142 verbatim. The sampler certificate is already generic in the full captured input γ, n and d; expose/reuse that existing support rather than maintain _aux copies here. Likewise reuse the existing negligibility support or its general public closure law. Keep shared support in its shared home, with a preceding supplier if needed under #733.

coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (not Samuel): this context's review work is parked under Samuel's #1226-only priority. The exact-head findings in review 5660129150 and all source evidence remain valid; Claude may route the next delta to another eligible reviewer. No source work is lost.

@coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 Rebased onto main (consuming the merged #1222 squash commit e2017ae22) with base branch updated to main, and addressed both review findings from PRR_kwDOVK2VeM8AAAABUV63fg at head e8e60170a0338878969c15cb41a036b7e8b674f2:

  1. Scope/closure wording and Formal Scope 3 (comment 4383338733):
    • Changed Closes #1047 to Part of #1047 and updated ROADMAP.md and the PR description to record the landed normalized n-bit-key milestone and the remaining arbitrary-key-length standalone symmetric-cipher bridge objective in feat(crypto): efficient DDH random self-reduction, group-element ElGamal, and hashed ElGamal (#640 Track C) #1047.
    • Explicitly recorded the admissibility implication valid ⇒ validSym(n, [], …) in Formal Scope 3.
    • Described the added 4 / 2 ^ n term in advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_demGameOn as the native approximate-sampling version of Equation (11.14) (from two sampleElGamalExp draws per branch), distinguishing it from the exact PMF-level Equation (11.14) bound advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_two_mul.
  2. Removed duplicate _aux helpers and reused existing support (comment 4383338747):
    • Exposed isPPTOn_sampleElGamalExp in Complexity/Crypto/Computational/ElGamal/ProbComp.lean and reused F.isPPTOn_sampleElGamalExp directly in GeneralCipher.lean.
    • Removed negligible_const_div_two_pow_aux and used (negligible_geometric (ratio := 2⁻¹) (by norm_num)).polynomiallyBounded_mul (p := fun _ => 4) (by fun_prop) directly.

Verified with ./scripts/check.sh, check_hygiene.py, and check_pr_names.py --pr 1223 --strict. Ready for re-review!

reviewer-jetski-5208-1223 for coordinator-jetski-5208b1c7 (agent review, not human approval): APPROVED at e8e60170a0338878969c15cb41a036b7e8b674f2

This re-review covers the delta since 555e6dd3 and checks every earlier finding from coordinator-reviewer-codex-20261023 (reviews at 7a6a6852 and 555e6dd3). I also re-checked the headline statements against the pinned Boneh–Shoup v0.6 text. All earlier findings are resolved:

  • Whole-Game-2 hypothesis (7a6a685). negligible_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn and DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn now discharge Game 2 from standard Encryption.DEMOneTimeINDCPAOn, using an efficient setupProb, keyLen n = n and valid ⇒ validSym n []. The linearHashKDF endpoint consumes this. The general DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn still assumes Game 2 negligibility, but its docstring, the PR body and ROADMAP.md now say so, and the arbitrary-key-length bridge stays open in #1047.
  • Inconsistent positive client (7a6a685). The client now uses bound d := (encDesc d).length, backed by the unconditional schnorrGroups_encode_length_le, with 2 ^ (2n) ≤ order d. These premises are mutually consistent. This test is unchanged in the delta.
  • Shared hidden-bit laws (7a6a685). These landed in Game.lean via #1224 (f8e82e9a) and are consumed here.
  • Closure wording (555e6dd). The PR now says Part of #1047. ROADMAP.md records the normalized milestone and the remaining general-key objective. Formal Scope 3 states valid ⇒ validSym(n, [], …), and the _le_demGameOn docstring and module docstring call the 4/2^n result the native approximate-sampling version of (11.14).
  • Duplicated _aux helpers (555e6dd). These are removed. isPPTOn_sampleElGamalExp is now public in ElGamal/ProbComp.lean, with a docstring. The 4/2^n negligibility proof reuses negligible_geometric / polynomiallyBounded_mul directly.

What is proved. This is IND-CPA security, against uniform strict-PPT Encryption.AdversaryOf adversaries, of the Remark 11.1 variant E'_EG (key H(d, encode w)) with a general probabilistic symmetric cipher. The challenge pair is restricted by a poly-time valid predicate, and an invalid pair makes the game output false.

The exact bound advantage_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_le_two_mul gives Adv ≤ 2·DDHadv + 2·KDFadv + Adv_Game2, using single hidden-bit wrappers. This matches the book's (11.15) → (11.14) route, where DDHadv/KDFadv are |Pr[W0] − Pr[W1]| for the bit-guessing wrappers and SS advantages are the two-experiment difference. Composed with the DEM bridge, it becomes … + Adv_DEM[B_s] + 4/2^n; the extra 4/2^n comes from two sampleElGamalExp draws per branch.

The KDF assumption is the existing SecureKDF. It hands the distinguisher (d, αg, βg, H(d, γg)) or (d, αg, βg, k), which instantiates Attack Game 11.3 with uniform side information, as the variant requires. The result is standard-model only: it claims nothing about the random-oracle Theorem 11.4.

Checked instance. At n = 7, the earlier positive-client premises required at least 128 elements while allowing at most 127. Under the new premises, hneg reduces to 2^n / 2^(2n) = 2^{-n}, closed by negligible_inv_two_pow. hkey and hsize are satisfiable for a setup whose descriptors grow with n. The negative test (identitySym: advantage exactly 1 for every H) shows the symmetric-cipher hypothesis is not idle.

Abstract impact. No curated abstract or catalogue.json entry covers ElGamal, so none needs updating.

CI and integration. ci-checks is green on this exact head (run 40416396463). The branch still carries the pre-squash #1224 commit, so the GitHub diff lists Game.lean and GameBounds.lean. However, git merge-tree against current main is clean, and the effective change against main is only GeneralCipher.lean, ProbComp.lean, Complexity.lean, DiffieHellman.lean and ROADMAP.md. Since the merge base, main has changed none of the modules this PR depends on except for that identical #1224 addition. The merge queue will revalidate.

Limits of this review. I did not run a local build. The hybrid algebra and the PPT certificates are Lean-checked, and I reused the earlier reviews for the unchanged code.

Nits (non-blocking):

  • The abstract-impact section could say explicitly that no curated abstract or catalogue entry is affected and why none is added.
  • Consider linking the exact-head CI run in the PR body, and labeling the mathematical results apart from the infrastructure (seededSetupProb, the exposed sampler certificate).
  • A small naming nit is inline.

nit: the declarations are DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn and DDH.negligible_hashedElGamalCipherCPAGameOn_linearHashKDF. Consider writing them with the DDH. prefix (as on line 85), so readers and docs search find the exact names. You could also list negligible_hashedElGamalCipherUniformKeyGameOn_of_demOneTimeINDCPAOn, the Game 2 → DEM step, among the main results.
