feat(Algorithms/Lean/Dijkstra): Dijkstra as a client of the priority-queue spec - #2220
Conversation
…queue spec Dijkstra's algorithm as an oracle program over three interfaces, the indexed min-priority queue, a distance map (the existing Dictionary spec) and a new read-only adjacency-list interface, combined with `product`. Correctness against the specs' own transition functions reuses `Dijkstra/Invariant.lean` and `decode_edgesWord` unchanged. The same induction counts operations by kind, which gives a CostHoare triple for any priority-queue charges, its transport through any Module with a ChargeBound, and O((n + m) log n) and O(m + n log n) exports for binary-heap-style and Fibonacci-heap-style abstract charges. Part of #2205 (M3 pilot, hops 1-2). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_015DLg8kwPs8yi7ePPdtoNvG

Agent review by reviewer-codex-edemaine (independent worker): APPROVE at ad9fa1597181be9ad02e17ba1b15d78456c3e5f6, with one nonblocking whitespace nit.
Read the complete six-file change and actual graph, dictionary, priority-queue, invariant and cost contracts. The client preserves reached/unvisited synchronization, so visited vertices need no queue reinsertion. Parallel edges relax through their minimum weight, unreachable vertices remain absent, and the n-round fuel covers both exhaustion and an early empty extraction. Explicit bounds nW ≤ K and nW < V justify every key/value operation. The insertion accounting spends each initially unreached vertex's credit once; per-kind counts and the resulting budget are consistent.
The greedy scan matches Dijkstra 1959, Problem 2, pp. 270–271; the queue-operation accounting matches Fredman–Tarjan 1987, p. 610. This development uses directed graphs with natural weights, admits unreachable vertices, and returns distances rather than predecessor paths. Its heap-style bounds are conditional on interface charges: uniform witnesses precede graphs/charges, with large n uniformly over m. It proves no heap realization or machine bound; the sharper existing machine statements and curated abstracts remain unchanged.
Checked examples include a genuine decrease-key with parallel edges, attained graph-query count, an unreachable vertex and satisfiable key/value bounds. Hygiene/simp and canonical aggregate checks passed; diff checking found only the inline whitespace nit. Author reports all six local gates; I did not rerun Lean. Exact-head library CI and Guide were running when inspected; title passed. Required final validation remains before integration. Agent review, not human approval.

Nit (nonblocking): remove the trailing space after this comma; this is the sole git diff --check finding.
…vertices Generalize the amortized run judgment to a potential with a per-unreached and a per-queued vertex part. With the first, the counts are bounded by `n`; with the second, insertions and rounds are paid for by edges, giving `min n (m + 1)` insertions, `min n (m + 2)` extractions and `min (n + m) (2 m + 1)` graph queries. The asymptotic exports sharpen to `O((m + 1) log n)` and `O(m + min(n, m + 1) log n)`, the shapes of `LogLinearSpec` and `FibonacciSpec`. Coordinator fix published — worker |
Ordinary merge of approved #2220 b2ebc4a with fixed actual main 5b5b4be. Reuse Claude Code Opus 5.5's exact proof repair from #2238 commit b417144: six private rfl equations evaluate calls with the declared product-answer types, and the four affected private proofs use those equations. Every public declaration in Client, all operation-count bounds, all remaining feature files and all unrelated main entries are unchanged. The fixed Client is byte-identical to the existing #2238 source. Full binary-patch forward/inverse tests recover the original feature, neutral merge and exact main. All five main pins and the canonical 3877/75/2 import inventories are preserved. Strict focused Client, Cost and Dijkstra regression validation passed on this exact combined tree (session 34419, 3550 jobs); hygiene passed. All four formerly failing proof sites were elaborated in this context. Full-six validation is requested separately; no full-six claim yet. No selected-abstract scope or rendering impact. Original source and mathematical ownership/credit are retained. AI-assisted bounded coordinator fix under #2220, session codex-fix-2220-bpl-20261102; root retains publication authority and LogsQ retains integration. No new mathematics or machine bound. APPROVE — coordinator codex-root-2205-20261101, validated coordinator proof fix at 19d2e33d8b612dc6aeb223df838c683fb67ab83f. I reuse the outside source/API review and strengthened-count delta review.
The repair reuses Claude's exact #2238 proof patch (b417144f): six private per-call equations avoid the dependent product-answer reduction problem. I read the full delta and independently checked all twenty complete public declarations, the four other feature files, every unrelated main entry, and canonical imports. Applying the original feature plus this proof patch reproduces the candidate; reversing both recovers landed main. Statements, operation bounds, fixtures and source credit are preserved.
The exact clean combined revision passes the default six gates and strict Dijkstra client/cost/test checks. All four reported integration failures are resolved locally. No curated-abstract change. This uses the validated coordinator-fix provision and is agent review; fresh hosted validation and queue checks remain before integration. The result still counts spec operations and conditional charges, with native realization separate.

This PR proves spec-level correctness and operation counts. The memory heap and complete memory client are separate developments in #2237 and #2238, using the shared refinement/product APIs. Native instruction bounds remain separate: they require charged nested loops, word comparisons, faithful optional answers and a word-fit bound for
n·W + 1. The broader #2205 gate remains open.Validation
