Updates
Scripture Pod looks for a newer release once a day, a short while after it starts. You can also press Check for updates in Settings, General. The app never installs an update by itself: that needs signed builds.
When a newer version exists, a notice appears at the bottom of the window.
In Settings, General, Download updates automatically is off by default.
- Off: the notice has an Open download page button that opens the releases page on GitHub. You download the installer there.
- On: the update downloads by itself, without opening GitHub. The notice shows the progress, then offers Open installer and Show in folder. The file is saved in your Downloads folder. Close the app, then open the installer.
If a release has no installer for your system, the notice falls back to the download page.
Turning the option on also checks for an update right away.
Every push to main publishes a pre-release named v<version>-build.<number>. Pushing a v* tag publishes a normal release. Installers are for macOS (.dmg), Windows (.exe) and Linux (.AppImage, .deb).
